Debuting in 1996's Resident Evil as a STARS commanding officer before being revealed as a double agent aligned with the Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesker has taken players on quite a journey throughout Capcom's franchise. After playing secondary roles in Resident Evil – Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 4, Wesker finally got his moment to shine as the main villain in 2009's Resident Evil 5.

Dressed in his trademark sunglasses and, in the later games, coat, Wesker is simultaneously really cool and incredibly cheesy; however, whenever he appears in a game, he tends to be one of its highlights. Here are 10 godly Albert Wesker fan art images that should be checked out.

10 The Big Bad

Art by DemonLeon3D.

Polarizing as the game might be, Resident Evil 5 did deliver a sense of closure by finally bringing to an end Wesker's run in the franchise. Ever since the first game, the doctor had been manipulating everyone from behind the scenes as he sought to replace humanity with a superior species.

With orange glowing eyes and a devilish fashion sense, DemonLeon3D's Wesker is the villain at the height of his power. The detail the author put into the water effects is remarkable.

9 Orange Eye

Art by starxade.

Outside of parts of the first game and Resident Evil 0, Wesker is always something more than human. After his status as a double agent was exposed and he appeared on the verge of death, Wesker administered to himself an experimental strain of the t-virus to survive. Along with eradicating any lingering traces of humanity, this heightened Wesker's physical attributes while also giving him orange eyes.

Created using watercolors, starxade's painting is a striking and atmospheric tribute to Resident Evil's iconic villain.

8 The Next Wesker Generation

Art by Renezinha.

Introduced in Resident Evil 6, Jake Muller is Wesker's son who inherited the latter's immunity to viruses but not his sociopathic tendencies. In the games, these two do not meet; in fact, it is suggested that Wesker never even knew that Jake existed. As such, Renezinha's drawing takes place in an alternate dimension featuring a version of Wesker who retains most of his personality but also has something resembling paternal instinct.

Opting for a realistic photo as a background is an interesting touch, although the highlight is definitely Wesker and Jake's surprisingly wholesome father-son moment.

7 Umbrella Chronicles

Art by flyhi-tokiwa.

Along with a few Mercenaries modes and more than a couple of spin-offs and crossovers, Albert Wesker is a playable character in 2007's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. This Wii and PS3 title fills in some of the things Wesker had been doing behind the scenes throughout the previous entries in the series, essentially setting the stage for his role in Resident Evil 5.

Flyhi-tokiwa's drawing screams "villain," and Wesker does know how to make being bad look entertaining. He radiates confidence and comes off as a person who is completely in control of the situation.

6 Godhood Awaits

Art by FrankAlcantara.

Resident Evil's storylines are reminiscent of b-movies, and Wesker definitely has shades of a villain that would appear in a knock-off James Bond flick. Even though his scheme to eradicate humanity is anything but original, Wesker's smooth demeanor, sophisticated approach to executing his plan, and intense rivalry with Chris Redfield make him difficult to not enjoy watching.

Inspired by Resident Evil 4's version, FrankAlcantara's Wesker is cool in a slightly silly sort of way, which is befitting of the character.

5 A Haunting Melody

Art by Lieju.

In the description for the classy drawing, Lieju explains that the inspiration behind this scene is a small moment in Resident Evil 5's Lost in Nightmares DLC when a piano can be heard playing in the distance. The musician is never revealed, but it more than likely was Wesker since he shows up later in the DLC.

It seems so fitting of the character to imagine that, even when on a personal mission to kill a powerful and well-guarded figure while two of BSAA's finest are in the vicinity, Wesker would still find the time to play the piano. Actually, he would make the time.

4 Playing Pretend

Art by silverstro.

Resident Evil – Code: Veronica contained the first proper example of Wesker's post-virus transformation, as the Host Capture Force agent showed up with enhanced strength, speed, and a healing factor. A few claws and Wesker would have been Wolverine, albeit with much better hair.

Silverstro's drawing is a unique blend of styles, taking cues from Hong Kong art and DC's Code Veronica comics. It is an interesting mix that creates something wholly original.

3 The Eyes Of Wesker

Art by DragonKeeper333.

DragonKeeper333's Wesker uses Bleach's Aizen as a starting point, and the anime villain is a surprisingly perfect match for Resident Evil's egotistical character. Featuring a quote from The Umbrella Chronicles and a blue coat that somehow manages to outdo the original in terms of style, this take on Wesker is chilling.

One look into those Eye of Sauron-esque pupils and someone might just start to accept Wesker's proposal for humanity's retirement.

2 A New Age

Art by pavel-bulgakov.

Compared to some other villains in the series, Wesker does not cause as much wanton destruction. While Carla Radames and Derek Simmons cause more damage in Resident Evil 6 than Wesker does in any of his outings, the latter is arguably the more intimidating villain as his actions are more focused. Wesker sought to change humanity forever by spreading the Uroboros virus and eradicating anyone who did not evolve into something more than human.

Pavel-bulgakov's Wesker stands over the world like a deity, one who will reshape the world in his image.

1 Uroboros

Art by MadBedlam.

One has to think that, in his mind, Wesker imagined he would look something like MadBedlam's painting after being exposed to the Uroboros virus. Naturally, things did not quite work out that way and Wesker ended up transforming into something quite hideous, but the goal was to create a being that was powerful and untouchable.

MadBedlam's painting is a visual treat for the eyes. The intense and deep colors combine splendidly with the pinpoint lining to create a mesmerizing version of Wesker.
