Microsoft has released the list of games that will come to Xbox next month as part of its Games With Gold lineup. October’s free games include the rhythmic Aaero, open-world Hover, and two classic titles as part of Xbox’s backward compatibility feature; Castlevania: Harmony of Despair and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. These titles will be available for a limited time to Xbox Live Gold members as well as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, who have the benefits of Gold along with access to Xbox Game Pass.
These games will spread out throughout the month of October beginning with Aaero, which will be available for the entire month beginning October 1. Gold members will then get access to Hover from October 16 to November 15. Meanwhile, the two backward compatible games will share the month with Castlevania: Harmony of Despair available from October 1 to October 15 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X arriving October 16 until October 31.
Aaero is a rhythm action shooter game from British developer Mad Fellows. The game, which is an Xbox One title, saw players racing through alien environments in a futuristic ship and taking on epic bosses. All of this is done to a fully licensed electronic dance music soundtrack with tracks from hit artists like Flux Pavilion, Katy B, The Prototypes, and more.
The futuristic 3D open-world game Hover lets players experience the thrills of a single and multiplayer parkour game. Players join a group of young rebels, known as the Gamers, that fight against an oppressive government. All while performing incredible tricks and combos to reach an Orbital Station.
Meanwhile, in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair players will jump into the Xbox 360 side-scroller and take control of one of the 6 fan-favorite vampire hunters from across the entire series. Players will step into the shadows of the hell house to get rid of Dracula once and for all.
Finally, Resident Evil Code: Veronica X is set three months after the destruction of Racoon City where players will help Claire Redfield search for her missing brother, Chris, in Europe. Naturally, this involves infiltrating the Paris lab of the zombie-producing Umbrella Corporation and taking on, well, zombies. The perfect game to jump into as you prepare for Halloween.
Xbox’s Gold October lineup is filled with some amazing titles. Though with a few days left until they become available, there is still time to get September’s just as good Gold offerings.
