Actress Jeanette Maus, who voiced several characters in Resident Evil Village, an upcoming survival horror game developed and published by Capcom, has passed away at the age of 39. Maus, who had been battling colon cancer, died on Sunday. The actress also suffered from Crohn's disease and had recently been diagnosed with COVID-19.
On Twitter, Capcom wrote, "We here at Capcom R&D 1 are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jeanette Maus, the talented actress who helped bring several different characters, including our witches to the world in Resident Evil Village. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones.”

Resident Evil Village, the tenth major installment in the Resident Evil series, is a sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game is scheduled to be released for Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on May 7, 2021. Set a few years after the events of Resident Evil 7, Village features Ethan Winters as the protagonist.
Capcom said of the story, "Ethan's world suddenly comes crashing down once again when Chris Redfield, an unexpected yet familiar face makes an appearance, setting off a chain of events that sees a distraught Ethan seeking answers to Chris' shocking actions, and ultimately finding him in a mysterious village."
Maus, who was known not only for her voice work, also appeared in Charm City Kings, which was released on October 8, 2020, by HBO Max, and co-wrote the 2008 film My Effortless Brilliance, an independent dark comedy directed by Lynn Shelton. The actress is set to appear in the forthcoming films Casting Call and My Fiona, as well as Adaptive Studio’s new sci-fi comedy series Stellar People.
The actress, who was also an acting and audition coach at John Rosenfeld Studios in West Hollywood, is survived by her fiancé, Dusty Warren, who wrote on Facebook, "It is with a shattered-yet grateful-heart that I inform you that Jeanette Maus passed away late last night due to complications of cancer. I'm really sad, but I'm super proud of her. She fought so hard, with tremendous grace and optimism, inspiring myself and I'm sure many of you."
