Resident Evil Village has been a huge success for Capcom, garnering positive reviews all around from critics and audiences alike, while also powering on the path to becoming the best-selling entry in the series. Now, it's even managed to land a spot in the PlayStation Editors' Choice halls.

"Resident Evil Village excels at combining an absurdly fun story with intense action," the accolade opened, "[Its] incredible boss battles, exquisite tension, and brooding atmosphere earn it a place."

Currently, there are 64 games in this library that you can peruse in the PlayStation Store. These vary from Little Nightmares 2 to Yakuza: Like a Dragon to the likes of Beat Saber and Celeste.

Last year's Editor's Choice awards from PlayStation represented the mindset at The Game Awards with the likes of The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima bagging wins and nominations, so it should serve as a good indication of Village's trajectory in critical acclaim in the coming months.

Capcom's latest survival horror hit will be no doubt pushed in the award season. That being said, it isn't the first Resident Evil game to land itself a place in PlayStation's Editors' Choice catalog.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 can both be found alongside it, with the former also having won awards such as the Ultimate Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick ceremony. However, the producer behind these properties, including Biohazard, which he made a physical appearance in, has left the studio, but the future is bright for Resident Evil fans if the past four entries are anything to go by.
