The internet may have largely fallen in love with Lady Dimitrescu, but as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well, if this 9ft 6 vampire doesn’t cut it for you, a Resident Evil Village modder may have something that’s more your type.
“Lady X” is, as the name would suggest, a hellish combination of Lady Dimitrescu and Mr. X, of Resident Evil 2 fame. While there’s no doubt Mr. X has his own group of dedicated fans, he certainly didn’t reach the dizzying heights of the tall vampire lady. But with this new makeover, his wrinkled, decaying face can get in on the action.
The Lady X mod from Nexus user, ZombieAli, completely overhauls the skin textures of Lady D, making her look much more zombie than vampire. Gone is her immaculate makeup, as her looks are replaced by the appearance of a much more conventional horror game villain.
Of course, this does have a big practical use. Capcom has been upfront about making Resident Evil Village less scary than its predecessors, feeling that it went overboard with Resident Evil 7 to the point where players struggled to play. To mitigate this in the sequel, Village has much more open space and light, making it easier to evade Lady Dimitrescu. And of course, there’s the fact that she doesn’t look half as scary as previous villains in the franchise. If you’re looking to change that, this mod could go a long way in helping - you might be a whole lot less eager for her to step on you now. Or more eager. You can’t predict the fans anymore.
Speaking of Lady Dimitrescu stepping on you, we actually recently reported that it would be a bad idea. Weighing an estimated 600 lbs (or 272 kg), that’s more than enough to asphyxiate you in just a few minutes. It could even puncture a lung if she was wearing one of those stiletto heels that Capcom showed off before release. But with all that being said, that might just make you more eager. Who knows anymore.
