Steam's weekly global top ten sellers is full of heavy hitters for the week ending on May 9. Both Resident Evil and Mass Effect Legendary Edition sprang into the top ten, both sporting hefty pre-order numbers to hold their slots.

Perhaps in the least surprising news you'll hear all week, Resident Evil Village currently holds the number one spot on Steam's global best sellers list. As noted in this handy post on Reset Era, pre-orders do count towards numbers boosting revenue for the week. And while Capcom's pre-order numbers secure its spot at the top, Bioware's Mass Effect Legendary Edition has crept into the ninth spot the same way.

Familiar games like It Takes Two landed at number three, more notable considering the Josef Fares' endearing co-op adventure has been out since last month. The full list is dominated by Resident Evil titles and familiar triple-A names:

  • Resident Evil Village
  • Hood: Outlaws & Legends
  • PUBG
  • It Takes Two
  • Valve Index VR Kit
  • Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle
  • Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle
  • Arma 3 Creator DLC
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition
  • Nier: Automata

The double entry of the Resident Evil bundle appears twice, but sports different IDs. Village is up by quite a margin compared to last week, when it occupied Steam's best sellers at number eight.

Resident Evil Village just launched last week, and you can read our review from Jade King now. Her experience boasts Village as "fantastic, but not without a few flaws," and more importantly noted, "There’s also not nearly enough big lady - she needs her own game." Our editor-in-chief Kirk Mckeand also had a crack at It Takes Two,  calling it "the best co-op game you can play right now."
