The Resident Evil film reboot has finally made its trailer debut, and it includes plenty of nodes to the first two games. In just a bit over two minutes, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City shares footage of Claire, Chris, Leon, and Jill, along with memorable series' enemies like the Lickers.

Welcome To Raccoon City's trailer is certainly busy, and keeps things pretty Claire-centric, but you do get a peek at Resident Evil's biggest players. It looks like the Redfield siblings do split up, and naturally pair off to embark on adventures paying tribute to the games—so Claire with Leon, Chris with Richard, etc. The film's cast includes Claire Redfield (Kaya Scodelario), Chirs Redfield (Robbie Amell), Leon Kennedy (Avan Jogia), Jill Valentine (Hannah John-Kamen), Albert Wesker (Tom Hopper), and Ada Wong (Lily Gao).

Don't blink or you'll miss a reference, there's plenty to stop and pause at. At around 1:49, there's the ever-so memorable "itchy, tasty" phrase etched in blood, and then plenty of scenes from the Spencer Mansion, Lickers, Lisa Trevor references, and William Birkin's terrifying transformation.

In the Russian trailer, there's also a few extra moments with the STARS cast, including more scenes with Claire, Leon, and the Raccoon City Police Department. It's not a massive difference, but a little something for eagle-eyed fans looking to compare the games with the film ahead of time.

Last year, when the Resident Evil film reboot was officially announced, writer and director Johannes Roberts said it would be a faithful adaption to Capcom's horror series, taking place in 1998 Raccoon City. Right now, it looks like it does stick to the first two games, with perhaps a wink and a nudge there for Code Veronica fans.

Originally, Sony's big-screen release was due out in September, but—like so many projects underway during the COVID-19 pandemic—it saw a delay. Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City is now set to make its debut on November 24 instead, just in time for the holidays.
