Snowboarding is the type of extreme sport most of us would love to try out but won't either through fear or just lack of accessibility to places where you can snowboard. However, there is no need to fret since Riders Republic delivers on one of the best virtual snowboarding experiences in recent years. It's by far the most satisfying sport to play in the game, with controls feeling responsive and intuitive.

Aside from great gameplay, the locations you venture through during these snowboarding adventures are fascinating to look at. The crisp snow, cold air, and towering mountains all come together to provide a fantastic atmosphere that makes you feel as if you're actually in the great Alps. Here are the best races you'll want to check out.

10 Hold Your Breath - Grand Teton - Albright Peak

Riders Republic. Riding a snowboard in deep snow. Wearing a bright yellow jacket.

There's no doubt you'll be holding your breath while making your way through this compelling stage, racing to the finish line. It's a straight shot to the end with only a few broken trees and bumpy patches of snow to trip you up. The preferable way to play the Hold Your Breath race is to opt into using a snowboard rather than the skis because it'll be more helpful with speed in the long run.

While a simple race, it stands out because of this. Its simplicity makes it the perfect fit for replaying when you only have a short amount of time to spare.

9 Killing Moon - Sequoia - General Highway

Riders Republic. Snowboarding with purple lighting. Wearing yellow jacket coming up to checkpoint.

If titles alone were enough to make a great level, Killing Moon would already be in the running; luckily, the level design is also stellar. Showcasing all the entertaining aspects of Riders Republic, including fast-paced gameplay, competitive nature, and unique screen filters. Everything joins together to deliver on an exciting trip down the mountains of Sequoia.

There are outstretching hills and AI players who are highly competitive with how often they bump into you. Of course, players will bump into you in most stages, but this is amplified in Killing Moon for some reason.

8 Elbow To Elbow - Mammoth - Dragon Alley

Riders Republic. Wearing a bright yellow jacket riding skis in snow.

Try making your way through Elbow To Elbow without so much as a scratch since it's unlikely you'll complete the stage without falling or bumping into obstacles at least once. The entire stage is an extensive stretch of land with sharp corners that make it hard to turn without slowing down more than you'd like.

This makes it a lot easier for those pesky players to knock you out of first place as they have somehow mastered the art of turning without bumping into absolutely everything.

7 For Real - Grand Teton - Teewinot Forest

Riders Republic. Dinosaur costume riding a snowboard.

Riders Republic is the most solid proof of dinosaurs' existence. Just look at the dinosaur, which is definitely real and not a costume you can purchase from the in-game store. And as this adorable dinosaur, you take on Teewinot Forest located in Grand Teton, which is filled to the brim with snow and trees.

It's a real fun day out with a track that balances challenge and entertainment exceptionally well. The tight spots are tricky but not too much so that it becomes infuriating.

6 Ridge TV Multiball - Grand Teton - Spalding Falls

Riders Republic. Yellow jacket, riding on snowboard in deep snow.

Acting as one of the big snowboarding events of the game, Ridge TV Multiball is packed full of rigidity bumps in the ground that requires you to keep great control over where your character is directed. These small bumps may not look harmful but can seriously push you off course, forcing you to backtrack as not to miss the checkpoint you just overlooked.

Some of these checkpoints are also sneakily hidden away, so make sure to check the minimap at the top of the screen. But most of all, have fun and don't overlook this race; it's one of the best Riders Republic has to offer.

5 Red Bull Homerun - Grand Teton - Grand Teton

Riders Republic. Riding on skis in snow wearing an orange jacket. Trees ahead.

Hitting the slopes is a fantastic way to relax before the end of the day, especially when it's virtually through Red Bull Homerun. This lengthy trip down the mountainside feels great to control when making use of the skis in particular. A lot of the time spent racing will be moving your character from side to side in order to stay in line with the checkpoints.

Grand Teton has many well-built races because of the heights of its mountains, but Red Bull Homerun is by far one of the standouts. If the thrill is where your interest lies, the Homerun stage is a remarkable contender.

4 Ridge TV Snow Rush - Mammoth - Dragon Alley

Riders Republic. Yellow jacket riding on red skis in the snow. Checkpoint ahead.

Optional objectives offer some of the best reliable replayability in the stages of Riders Republic. The ones of Ridge TV Snow Rush are focused on how fast you can complete the level, which is only made more entertaining with how the race requires you to swerve in and out of the way of the many obstacles that lie ahead.

Once you get the rhythm down, these will be easy to dodge, but that doesn't mean it's still not incredibly satisfying every time you do so.

3 Salomon In One - Mammoth - Eagle Lodge

Riders Republic. Orange jacket riding on skis in snow.

Salomon In One, taking place in both Mammoth and Yosemite, gives you a whole host of things to play around with. There are ramps, steep ledges, and curvy turns, all allowing you to increase your speed just in time to land some awe-inspiring tricks. Tricks are entirely optional in races, but it will make you feel ten times cooler if you manage to land these while coming in first place and not falling.

Because of the genre blends of the game, it's fun to try out the optional objectives and see how well you fare at them.

2 8 Ball - Grand Teton - Grand Teton

Riders Republic. Snowboarding in deep snow. Bright atmosphere. Wearing yellow jacket.

Speed comes into play constantly in Riders Republic. After all, it's a critical aspect. But this is especially prevalent in 8 Ball, where you'll be going at increasingly fast speeds from the very start of the race. It's not a difficult stage by any means, but it doesn't need to be; the level design with where everything is placed and the visual style of the stage brings it a step above most of the races.

If you manage to maintain this speed through the entire race, you most likely won't spot your fellow players until after crossing the finish line, which must be quite embarrassing for them.

1 Pathfinder - Grand Teton - Corbet's Couloir

Riders Republic. Snowboard riding in snow with checkpoint ahead. Wearing yellow jacket.

If you needed further proof of how impressive the snowboards control in Riders Republic, there's always the Pathfinder race which will surely convince you; so much is within this level. There are the long snowy sections where you'll be speeding all the way, but also tight turns and ramps to launch off and perform tricks using.

Everything is here, and it works fantastically because of this. If you want to test out your snowboard skills, Pathfinder is a good one to keep in the back of your mind since you can use this level to practice every tool you could ever need to master your snowboarding.
