The team at Ubisoft Annecy has developed and launched a spiritual successor to its 2016 extreme sports game Steep, and this game is Riders Republic. It combines seven different national parks into a single open world for you to explore with other players. This sprawling world, therefore, contains plenty of different climates, each with landmarks to discover and enjoy.

There is good reason to do this, as once you visit 30 out of the 45 on offer, you unlock the jetpack, opening up a new way to play. On your way to completing this task, here are the eight landmarks that you will want to visit as soon as possible.

8 Vernal Falls: Yosemite Valley

Located on the Mist Trail, Vernal Falls provides a peaceful and beautiful distraction from the intensity of normal gameplay. It's your classic waterfall and stands at 317 feet. It's even more spectacular when explored after the unlock of the jetpack, and is always flowing powerfully, so don't be afraid of missing out.

It's the only example of a major waterfall on the map and stands out from most others in its valley because of this.

7 Tunnel Log: Sequoia

Riders republic landmark tunnel log real life

A reclusive spot is to be found on the northern edge of Sequoia - Tunnel Log demands a visit due to its splendid simplicity. Collapsing on December 4, 1937, it completely blocked the road. Instead of removing it, park rangers cut a hole in the middle large enough for cars to go under it. Due to the type of tree, it will remain for generations to come.

It should be one of the first on your checklist due to the sight of it, the accessibility, and the fact it is often overlooked for the Moro Rock just south of its location. Meaning that it's relatively quiet if you wish to explore and ride on your own.

6 Spine Lines: Grand Teton

Spine Lines acts as the K2 to your Mount Everest. Despite being one of the highest peaks, it is somewhat forgotten due to the closeness of the highest. Difficult to get to, it requires skill to traverse your way to this landmark, but it's worth it.

The location allows you to immediately access the spine of the mountain and ski down the side at immense speeds. This provides great replayability value and means that discovering this landmark early on is an absolute must if you wish to put your skills to the test.

5 The Alligator: Bryce Canyon

In the westernmost section on the map but east of Bryce Point lies The Alligator. This is, as the name would suggest, an alligator-shaped rock formation. Once again, it's one of the more unusual landmarks in the game and should be visited by all. Its fluke design is enabled by a type of limestone called Dolomite which forms a protective layer of hard rock above weaker rock below.

Plan your visit at either dawn or dusk to really see the shape of the rock. Beyond the pure aesthetic, it's a viable wingsuit location used to traverse to differing areas of Bryce Canyon.

4 The Narrows: Zion

Riders republic the narrows landmark real life

The Narrows is the narrowest part of Zion Canyon. The gorge here is narrow (of course) with walls of around 1000 feet. It makes for quite a sight from the bottom or the top.

A bike ride along the bottom of the gorge is particularly popular, and for good reason. It is a challenging ride to avoid the water and stay upright on an uneven surface. Alongside this, it is a good wingsuit location for free-roaming as you can drift within the gorge itself.

3 El Capitan: Yosemite Valley

Riders republic landmarks el capitan real life

Primarily attracting rock climbers in real life, El Capitan attracts many to its peak in Riders Republic for a different reason. Standing at 3000 feet, this grand rock formation dominates the surrounding area. Standing at its peak after a taxing ride up is a rewarding endeavor due to the view that awaits you.

The second and more important reward is being able to wingsuit off the top of the rock and reach almost anywhere in Yosemite and surrounding areas.

2 Thor's Hammer: Bryce Canyon

A sandstone tower shaped in the image of Thor's Hammer is what will await you at this landmark. Here and in the surrounding area, erosion has created archways and pathways that combine to make patterns in the rock.

This makes it one of the best places in the game to engage in some high-level bike freestyle. This is a landmark that you will visit and continually come back to in order to practice your skills in a captivating environment.

1 Grand Teton Summit: Grand Teton

Part of the appeal of this landmark is the journey to it. Over 50 paths have been discovered leading up to the summit, and whether you're skiing, cycling, or walking, it will take a while. At nearly 14,000 feet, it is the highest point in the game and has a spectacular view across all seven areas in the game.

The appeal of a visit doesn't end here; with the Grand Teton Summit, you can ski, snowboard, cycle, or wingsuit your way down to the bottom. You'll find yourself visiting here almost every session.
