Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has returned to the top of the UK boxed charts, largely due to a fresh influx of PS5s hitting British shores.

One month on from its exclusive release on PS5, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has returned to the top of the UK boxed charts. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the sequel enjoyed a 187% boost in sales last week compared to the week before. That's thanks to a fresh batch of PS5s arriving in the UK and Rift Apart being bundled with some of those consoles.

Rift Apart debuted at number one during its launch weekend and held that position the following week. Its second-week sales were actually slightly higher than they were during its launch week. A rare occurrence but again, something that can be attributed to PS5 availability in the UK and Rift Apart being the first game to be officially bundled with the console.

Rift Apart also has a quiet week for new releases to thank for its return to the top of the chart. The best-performing new game was Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The newest installment in the Monster Hunter series made it to number three, right behind FIFA 21 which has enjoyed good sales for the past month thanks to Euro 2020. The Monster Hunter Sequel performed twice as well as the first game did during its launch weekend.

Mario Golf: Super Rush, the game that knocked Rift Apart off the top of the chart three weeks ago, slips down to number four. The remainder of the top ten makes for familiar reading, for the most part. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, GTA 5, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are all still up there, and almost definitely will be next week and the week after that.

As for what the top of the chart might look like this time next week, it seems unlikely that Rift Apart will be able to make it four weeks out of six. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword hits the Switch later this week and is almost guaranteed to top the physical chart during its launch weekend. F1 2021 may also make the top ten, but the racing sim will struggle to stop Link from taking pole.
