Trigger warning: Sexual harassment and rape

Pro Street Fighter player Robson ‘robinho’ Oliveira has been banned from all future Capcom Cup events and scrubbed clean from Capcom's website following "atrocious acts".

As reported by Dexerto, Oliveira took to Twitch to tell his viewers a disturbing story regarding an ex-girlfriend who he had found out had been cheating on him. "We went out and got hammered, we got really drunk,” Oliveira said “I took her to a house and I called like eight dudes. I said ‘Today, she’s gonna get fucked up'. She got herself all broken. I did her good, everyone got a turn."

Viewers instantly took to Twitter to report the story and share it around, which brought it to the attention of Capcom. Following the stream, Oliveira was dropped by his organisation, PATOZ and Capcom removed any mention of Oliveira from the Capcom Pro Tour website, with all pages leading to him resulting in 404s. Previously, Oliveira had won the CPT Brazil 2 qualifier, which earned him a spot in the Capcom Cup 7.

Capcom has since released a statement on Oliveira, saying, "It has come to our attention that Robson 'robinho' Oliveira made claims in a public forum wherein he described participating in reprehensible and atrocious acts. We have zero tolerance for these acts and behaviours, which, at a minimum level, violate the player code of conduct, potentially Brazillian laws and deserve action."

The statement continues, "Therefore, Robson 'robinho' Oliveira is hereby permanently banned from all Capcom-owned and/or operated events including Capcom Cup, Capcom Pro Tour and Street Fighter League. This is a global ban, meaning it applies to all tournaments and locations across the world. While this is just one consequence, we hope the local authorities quickly investigate and address this matter to the fullest extent of the law."

In an interview with globo.com, Oliveira denied the accusations. "That was a story I made up right away, in a jibe,” he said. “That thing about drinking doesn’t even exist. People are distorting the whole story … It’s a story that doesn’t even exist, something I said in the joke, now they’re accusing me of something that was said in jest."
