Rocket League is getting a bit more extreme this week, as Psyonix has partnered with ESPN to bring X Game-themed content to the rocket-powered sports game.

From January 21 to January 24, Rocket League will feature X Games gear in the Item Shop. Items include the X Games Octane Decal, X Games Wheels, and Snowblind Topper. There are also two free items you can pick up during the event – X-Skis Player Banner and X-Board Player Banner. If you miss out on the event, Rocket League will be offering the items again from January 28 through January 31.

The Rocket League Championship Series will also see the introduction of the RLCS X Games: North American Regional that will be held on January 23-24 and January 30-31. The event is an official X Games 2021 event, giving the top North American teams a chance to compete against each other for a chance to win an RLCS X Games medal. You'll be able to check out the action on the ESPN App, Twitch, and YouTube at 10am PT.

Twitch is probably your best viewing option, however, as you'll have a chance to pick up drops such as the Knuckle Huck Player Banner and X Boards and X Skis Topper.

This isn't the first time the two brands have collaborated, as Psyonix and X Games previously teamed up in 2017 for the FACEIT X Games Rocket League Invitational within X Fest in Minneapolis.

The X Games Aspen 2021 begin on Friday, January 29 and run until Sunday, January 31.

Rocket League ended 2020 on a high note, as the move to a free-to-play model saw a massive spike in player count. It's followed up that success with regular content drops, frequent patches, and plenty of limited-time events to keep players engaged. Psyonix also announced the return of the fan-favorite Rocket Labs as an LTM, offering unique twists on the usual Rocket League formula. Best of all, the LTM is expected to make regular appearances throughout the year.

Rocket League is available for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
