A job listing published by Rockstar for a new VFX artist has got some people thinking GTA 6 is shaping up to be an incredibly ambitious project.

Grand Theft Auto fans are about to experience an incredibly busy period. If the rumors are true, then the now-confirmed remastered GTA trilogy will be here before the end of 2021. Shortly after that, by March 2022 if all goes to plan, the enhanced and expanded version of GTA 5 will finally arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

While both of those projects might excite some, it feels very much like the vast majority of GTA fans are eagerly awaiting news on GTA 6. Rockstar hasn't even confirmed it is working on the game yet, and a new listing for a VFX artist suggests rumors GTA 6 won't be here until 2025 might well be true.

Don't be too disheartened. If the listing really is looking for someone to work on GTA 6, then the language used will give those awaiting the next game in the series something to get excited about. Rockstar is seeking out an artist who can create “large scale destruction” in-game. That could mean we will be able to blow up skyscrapers and perhaps even rivals' fancy coastal pads once the new GTA is finally here.

The list of details Rockstar is hopeful its new VFX artist will be able to bring to the table and add to whatever game they work on continues. Rain dripping from buildings, insects around the player, and harking back to the destruction stuff, a specific mention of bringing down a skyscraper. Basically, everything from an entire building falling to the ground to the intricate detail of a bee flying around the players' head.

Again, it should be highlighted that nowhere in the job listing does it mention what project Rockstar is hiring for. However, with the assumption that GTA 6 is almost definitely in very early development at this point, it isn't a massive leap to assume it will be a new GTA game benefitting from this new employee's expertise. Whether that is the case or not, the mere hint that GTA 6 might include the ability to bring down a skyscraper is bound to make those waiting for it even more impatient than they already are.
