A Rocksteady employee may have accidentally tipped us off to what's next for the company's relationship with DC. A Justice League game.

Two weeks removed from the release of Avengers: Endgame and the world is obsessed with Marvel. Honestly, how could you not be? Don't panic, you'll find no one spoiling the Endgame here. That being said, if you haven't seen the movie by now we're assuming that you don't care enough about the MCU for spoilers to bother you all that much.

Anyway, with Marvel thriving, DC really needs to find itself a foothold. It seems that the best way to do that right now is via the gaming world. It needs to act fast too. Marvel's Spider-Man was an unmitigated hit, and it seems like Square Enix announcement that it has been working on an Avengers game is coming any day now. However, we know that when partnered with developers Rocksteady, DC can create great games.

The trouble is, we have seen nothing from that particular collaboration since the curtain came down on their Batman Arkham trilogy. However, as reported by Game Rant, one Rocksteady dev may have accidentally let the cat out of the bag in regard to the duo's next project. A Justice League title. Speculation began when the dev tweeted that he was joining the Rocksteady team accompanied by a Justice League gif.

If that alone wasn't enough to get fans talking, the tweet was promptly deleted and replaced with one that did not contain a Justice League gif. Curiouser and curiouser. This rumor is just the latest in a string of speculation as to what's coming next from DC and Rocksteady. There has been talk of an open world Superman game, and even a Suicide Squad title.

One thing is for certain. If DC and Rocksteady do have something in their locker, they're going to want to announce some details soon. They might even be waiting for details of the aforementioned Avengers game to be revealed before they do so. An intense game of who will blink first, if you will. Suffice to say, Marvel has beaten DC in the movie war, but the gaming title is still very much up for grabs.
