Ronda Rousey came to the ring for her match at Elimination Chamber dressed as Sonya Blade, the character she has voiced in Mortal Kombat 11.

The hype for the release of Mortal Kombat 11 is real. Thankfully, we don't have much more time to wait until we can get our hands on it. The next chapter of the iconic fighting franchise will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 23, 2019. Just a little more than two months to go.

One of the characters returning to the MK roster will be Sonya Blade. Blade has been ever-present throughout Mortal Kombat's history and was the only female character on the original version of the game all the way back in 1992. Blade will be a little different this time around, however, as she has been voiced by former UFC Champion and current Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey.

The news that Rousey would be the voice of Blade was revealed last month, and the MMA fighter turned pro wrestler spoke of her love for the character. Saying that is great, but showing it is something else entirely. That's likely why this past Sunday at WWE's Elimination Chamber, Rousey came to the ring for her title defense dressed as Blade.

In the year that Rousey has been a WWE Superstar, she has normally wrestled her matches dressed in attire that pays tribute to her late wrestling hero, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. However, with the release of MK 11 on the horizon, she decided to switch things up a bit. As you can see above, the outfit was pretty awesome. The champ also disposed of her opponent, Ruby Riott in a similar fashion to Blade, winning the match in less than two minutes.

Rumor has it that Rousey might not be the only WWE presence in Mortal Kombat 11. Rumors have been rife that 16 time World Champion John Cena will also join proceedings as Stryker. Alas, that is merely a rumor and for now, Rousey stands alone when it comes to WWE Superstars on the upcoming game. Even if Cena does voice Stryker, we can't imagine him trading in his brightly colored t-shirts and jean shorts for a black SWAT uniform.
