The Assassin’s Creed franchise is lots of things to lots of people. It’s a masterpiece, it’s an annual re-tread, it’s overrated, it’s… all of these things and many more, depending on who you speak to. But did you know that it’s also now an adorably cutesy RPG? Yep, mobile mash-up Assassin’s Creed Rebellion is coming to mobile next month.

For many gamers just now, the only franchise entry that matters is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Which is totally fair enough, of course. The critically-acclaimed title has been a real success, even if it is a little too ambitious for its own good at times. The fact is, though, the gaming industry is a super fickle place. You can be hyped beyond all belief one month and then the new kid on the block swoops in and steals your glory.

Odyssey’s world is one hell of a vast place, there’s no denying. As you progress through the main quest, there’s all manner of side stories and distractions to seek out (not to mention a snarky The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild easter egg). How much longer do you think it’ll keep you playing, though? At least until November 21st, hopefully, which is the day a very different Assassin’s Creed experience arrives.

As Gematsu reports, Assassin’s Creed Rebellion is a strategy RPG for mobile platforms, which will feature a range of Assassins. Your goal will be to ally yourself with them, build up your HQ and strengthen your forces, before staging attacks on the strongholds of the Templars.

Along the way, we’ll be treated to all the usual trappings you’d expect of a mobile game of this caliber. Timed events, leaderboards and the like. The presentation is, let’s be honest with ourselves here, just adorable, and it’s got a lot in common with Fallout Shelter (room-building and micromanagement).

There’s no word yet on the microtransaction situation, but with Ubisoft at the helm, it’s probably safe to assume that they’ll try to pull something on that score.

You can check out a quick trailer of Rebellion in action right here. If that’s enough to get you riled up, you can also head over to the official site and pre-register. Again, November 21st is the release date.
