Rumor: Next Arkham Game Will Have A Trailer During Next Playstation State Of Play

The Batman Arkham series might easily be some of the most celebrated video game franchises of the past decade. Proving that superhero games could, in fact, be masterpieces, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight single-handedly raised the bar for licensed games everywhere, and signs are pointing to a new Batman Arkham game being revealed at Tuesday's State of Play for PlayStation.

Many indicators have surfaced recently pointing to this, including Batman voice actor Roger Craig Smith sending out a tweet hinting at a new Batman game. Smith voiced Batman in Batman: Arkham Origins.

The next indicator that involves the Batman Arkham games is that the games can be gotten for free on the Epic Games Store. Furthermore, Arkham Knight can be downloaded for free by PlayStation Plus members.

Lastly, and perhaps most significantly, is that yesterday was Batman's 80th anniversary. On this occasion, many celebrated the Dark Knight's 80-year existence that has brought entertainment to fans everywhere in different forms. This includes WB Games Montreal, developer of Batman: Arkham Origins, who sent out a tweet in recognition of the Caped Crusader's 80th birthday.

It has been suspected for a while that a new Batman game was being worked on. From other tweets besides that of Smith's to pictures hinting at a Court of Owls game, a new Arkham game is a definite possibility and the State of Play, which may also feature upcoming big-name titles like The Last of Us: Part II and Death Stranding, would be a perfect time to introduce the game in a public setting.

It can be debated whether a new Batman: Arkham game is necessary. While Batman: Arkham Knight wasn't perfect by any means, thanks to some completely out-of-place vehicle sections, the game was a bunch of fun and had an entirely intriguing storyline with strong performances from all involved. It seemed like the series ended on the right note, even if that note was flawed.

Batman: Arkham Origins, on the other hand, was not completely well-received for a variety of factors, so hopefully, if there is a Court of Owls game coming up, it can expand on the series in productive ways.
