PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG Mobile) has revealed a series of in-game clues that point towards an epic crossover event with the upcoming release of the film Godzilla: King of the Monsters. While the event has not yet been confirmed, the clues that have been identified by players during matches are similar to the clues given before the previous crossover events with Horizon: Zero Dawn and Resident Evil 2.

Although details are lacking regarding exactly what form this crossover will take, as well as the dates that they may occur, the hints are scattered all over the map, and the most likely launch date would coincide with the opening of the film on May 31, 2019.

Currently, players can hear high-pitched roars in certain locations on the map, as well as locate paintings representing parts of the Godzilla universe. As of PUBG Mobile patch V0.12.5, the Miramar map has three distinct locations to visit, each with a painting of Godzilla, King Ghidorah, or Mothra. Finding and then investigating all three earns a Silver coin as a reward, but there is likely more to these painting once the event is officially announced.

As for rewards or items that can be purchased that are tied into the event, there is little reason to believe that this crossover will be different from the previous two. In the crossover for Resident Evil 2, players needed to find and collect Vaccines that served as currency throughout the event. The currency is able to be stockpiled and spent in the item shop. In the previous event, Vaccines were collected by daily logins, surviving for 50 minutes in the “Survive Till Dawn” special event, and most dangerous and exciting of all, finding them during a match in random locations.

That final way of collecting event currency is always the most challenging, as these events tend to shift the way in which players move through the map. Some players will only focus on the currency, treating the game like a scavenger hunt, and collecting weapons and fighting opponents along the way only when there is no alternative.

If the last two events are any prediction of the future, then the event currency will likely be redeemable for Special Event themed crates, Outfit Boxes, Chicken Dinner crates, player titles, and perhaps a skin of a character from the upcoming film. In the Resident Evil 2 crossover, these skins were modeled after Ada Wong and Leon Kennedy.

Any items that can be obtained during the crossover are likely to be unavailable after the event ends, so make sure you join the fight daily to get all of the items that catch your eye!
