One of the toughest decisions players needs to make when playing Rune Factory 4 is which character to marry. Below is a list and description of all the candidates to help players make the right choice when choosing who to marry.
12 Forte
Forte is the perfect companion for the player looking for a loyal wife. She is a dragon knight who loves sweets and takes her job seriously. She trains regularly and openly offers to help the player on their journey.
Forte prefers to be gifted simple meals like chocolate cake, omelet rice, and unicorn stew.
11 Kiel
Kiel plays a bit of a weird role in the game; he is a character that likes to gossip about rumors. Other than his gossiping, Kiel is a kind person who enjoys talking with his friends, and he loves to read.
His favorite gifts to receive are chocolate cake, much like his sister, and stew.
10 Arthur
Arthur is a gentle soul who works with goods. He loves cute things and has a soft spot for turnips as gifts. He is noted as being a hard worker who is willing to miss sleep in order to finish up on projects.

9 Xiao Pai
The most notable thing about Xiao Pai is that she is very clumsy and tends to get lonely. She can be found at the town inn where she works and loves to be gifted emery flowers. She has fewer loves than some of the other characters making her hard to court.

Like Dylas, Amber was once a monster who became a human. She retains some of her monsters traits and can even fly thanks to her wings. She is one of the happiest villagers and likes to spend her time basking in the sunlight.
She has less likes than most of the other candidates, with only three loves; gold juice, mixed smoothies, and emery flowers.
7 Doug
Doug has a tendency to complain a lot and is much lazier than the other villagers. He is motivated by food, but otherwise, it can be hard to keep his attention. He does help at the general store, but is somewhat negative about his job.
When you first meet Doug, you will learn that he likes to hide his kind side. Doug loves to be gifted the tempura bowl.
6 Vishnal
Vishnal is one of the butlers in the castle where you stay. He is a character that is often tricked by others and has the strange life goal of wanting to be the best butler in the world.
As for gifts, Vishnal likes to receive several varieties of curry and has a huge list of likes that contain most types of vegetables.

Margaret is an elf that fears outliving all of her companions, but hides is behind a cheery smile. She is crazy about music and can be a bit overwhelming when asked about the topic by her friends.

4 Dylas
Dylas was once a monster, but now he has taken human form and works a modest job. He won't appear immediately in the game and will move into town after you defeat him in the story.
He is a complicated character, thanks to his monster past and loves to be gifted different types of sashimi.

Clorica is another butler that works in the palace, but she has a few problems that keep her from working. Her biggest issues is the fact that she tends to fall asleep quite easily, but can work while she sleeps.
She is also great at cooking and has a large list of likes and loves for the player to gift her. Some of her favorite items are glitter stones, round stones, and apple pies.
2 Leon
Leon is another bachelor who use to be a monster and must be defeated by the player to romance. He is laid back most of the time and loves to help those who are in need. He is also seen as being an incredibly charismatic character.
Despite his looks though, he is actually hundreds of years old. Leon loves to be gifted grilled lamp shrimp and salted trout.
1 Dolce
Dolce immediately stands out just from the way she is dressed. She has the ability to speak with ghosts and is close with one named Pico. She doesn't hold back in conversations and doesn't mind getting right to the point.
Dolce can also be one of the most sarcastic characters in the game. Some of her favorite gifts are flan and cheesecake.
