Jagex is making the grind a bit easier to bear over the next few days, as a Double XP event is now live in Runescape until November 16. And, for the first time ever, the event includes the new Archaeology skill, letting you channel your inner Indiana Jones and dig through the Orthen ruins.
While the event runs until November 16, you're limited to 48 hours of Double XP time – so be wise about your AFK skilling. The benefits are exclusive to members, although free-to-play members will benefit from 20% extra XP for all available skills.
There are a few added benefits to training your Archaeology skill during RuneScape's Double XP event:
- Base Precision is doubled, meaning you'll get double the projects per hour from excavation.
- XP from excavation and screening is doubled.
- Players won't get Double XP from tomes, research, mysteries, pylons, or restoring artefacts.
The XP Boost doesn't able to XP earned through XP lamps, Cremation, Assist System, Ectofuntus, and various other items and activities. For a full list, check out the official RuneScape website.
RuneScape's latest Double XP event is perfectly timed – the Orthen digsite was recently released, but you'll need to be a high-level archaeologist in order to explore it. We'd recommend using this time to up your dirt digging skills, as the Orthen location seems like a mysterious place worth exploring.
RuneScape's Double XP event will run until November 16.
