October 10 is World Mental Health Day, and RuneScape is bringing attention to the occasion by offering several different in-game events for the next two weeks. Part of the Gielinorian Giving charity series, you'll be able to earn a bunch of exclusive loot for participating, including the Guardian of Fortitude Armour.

Running until October 18, representatives from all three of Jagex's Charity Partners can be found in Lumbridge Crater. Every two days the reps will offer a new brainteaser for you to answer – get it right, and you'll get free Lamps and Traveling Artisan Patches. Bring those patches to Ulric, who can also be found In Lumbridge Crater, along with a few other materials to have him craft you exclusive rewards – most exciting of which is the Guardian of Fortitude Armour. The traveling artisan can even craft items from past charity events, including:

  • Eugene the Brain
  • Scoop and Percy the yetis
  • Brain Plushie

All money raised through the event will be given to the three charity partners of Jagex – Rise Above the Disorder, CPSL Mind, and the Prince's Trust. These organizations run workshops for young adults to help them tackle the challenges associated with mental illness and gives them direct access to mental health resources.

In other October news, Jagex clarified the confusion surrounding the end date for the Archaelogy XP Embargo. The new date is October 19, although you can still use Lamps and other items to boost your XP gain after that date. Archaeology is the brand-new skill that was recently added to RuneScape, offering players a new way to experience Gielinor and was heavily featured in the Desperate Measures questline.

RuneScape continues to thrive despite being a decades-old MMO. It was recently announced that it would be made available on Steam on October 14, likely providing another population boost to the already popular title. Not to be confused with Old School RuneScape, RuneScape offers upgraded visuals, new mechanics, and a completely reworked combat system.

The Gielinorian Giving event will run until October 18. Head on over to Lumbridge Crater and pay a visit to one of the new NPCs to get started with the exclusive content.
