Saints Row got another trailer at The Game Awards tonight, giving us a better look at its gameplay. In news that should reassure longtime fans, it looks set to combine various aspects of the previous instalments, while also introducing us to a new, unique setting.

The latest trailer also confirms what we already suspected: Saints Row will be just as violent and slapstick as ever. With new weapons, tech, and ways to take on rival gangs, the series certainly hasn't toned down in its hitaus.

The new setting of Santo Ileso looks far more Saints Row 2 than Saints Row 3, but other than that, it looks like we're getting a healthy mix of the different vibes. Soaring the skies in flight makes a return from Saints Row 4, for example, albeit with physical gear rather than superpowers this time around. We also see the new boss mobilizing troops on the ground, much like we did in the first two instalments - while also able to dress up in ridiculously over the top drip like the more recent games.

Saints Row was initially set to launch this February, but was recently delayed. It's now planned to hit PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC August 23, 2022, in what will be the first mainline entry since Saints Row 4 in 2013.
