cThe popular horror-themed event ScareDiego will return this year to kick off San Diego Comic Con 2019. The panel, hosted off site by Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, will feature the highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 box office smash hit, It: Chapter 2.

The director of the sequel, Andy Muschietti, confirmed It for the panel on Instagram with a picture of a Derry postcard and the caption "BOOM ScareDiego in July with IT CHAPTER 2." This will be the 3rd year ScareDiego will be hosted ahead of Comic-Con and details indicate it will be the biggest and best we've ever seen.

The It: Chapter 2 panel is actually 2 years in the making. Last year's ScareDiego featured the first look at the sequel, which at that point had only begun filming a few weeks prior. Fans were treated to some behind the scenes footage featuring Bill Hader, James McAvoy, and Jessica Chastain as the adult version of the Losers. In the teaser, Muschietti urged fans that they would need to bring adult diapers to the upcoming film.

There was a lot more news last year too, as fans got to see exclusive footage and sit for a panel with the stars of The Nun and The Curse of La Llorona. James Wan also announced the third sequel for Annabelle, which released this past month.

This year, details are far more scarce leading up to the event, but what we do know are 2 major details: Fans will be getting an exclusive new peak at It: Chapter 2, scheduled for release on September 6th, and the host of the show will be none other than Conan O'Brien.

This is the first time Conan will be hosting ScareDiego, but we already know from his Clueless Gamer series that he Conan handle a jump scare or two. Tickets are available for free for the event through 1iota, however, it seems that they're using a lottery system to determine who the tickets will go to.

During the first Scarediego in 2017, attendees were treated to an early screening of Annabelle: Creation. The lack of details for this years event, and the inclusion of Conan, may indicate there are very big things in store for fans. Could there actually be an early screening of It:Chapter 2 during the panel? We'll just have to wait and see.
