Bandai Namco Entertainment announced this morning that its anime action game Scarlet Nexus will be releasing on June 25, 2021. Heading to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X (via Smart Delivery), a new trailer introduces players to the character of Kasane and her struggle in this colorful universe.

A lot of what we see in the trailer isn't anything new. The gameplay of Scarlet Nexus is well known at this point, but the big reveal was that an anime series is in production. Better still, SUNRISE of Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass fame will be handling the animation. It seems like Bandai Namco wants this to coincide with the release of the main game, but the show currently has a release window of Summer 2021. It will be getting a simultaneous global release, however.

If you're already sold on Scarlet Nexus, you can currently pre-order the game on digital storefronts to receive some in-game items. Doing so will net you a couple of costumes, some various cosmetics, and extra baki attachments for your weapons. There doesn't seem to be any fancy collector's editions for fans of physical editions, but GameStop is offering a nifty poster for your troubles.

It's interesting to see Bandai Namco embrace anime games as of late. With the massive success of Dragon Ball FighterZ and the relative success of Code Vein, the company has carved out an interesting niche in the gaming sphere. I'm not exactly sold on Scarlet Nexus, but I can't deny that it has very colorful and interesting visuals. Hopefully, the gameplay can stand up next to them.
