Popular streamer and Esports legend Brandon “Seagull” Larned had a particularly strong reaction while watching Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference today. Seagull, best known as one of the most popular Overwatch players, streamed the Xbox show on his personal Twitch channel today to share in the excitement with his fans. The showcase of games and hardware, streamed live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, was moving along with the typical reveals and updates of previously announced games for just over half an hour when a new trailer for CD Projekt Red’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 debuted, captivating a worldwide audience.

What happened next was nothing short of a bonafide show-stopper: The trailer ended with the reveal of a new character bearing a striking resemblance to one Keanu Reeves. The camera then cut away from the trailer back to the Microsoft Theater as John Wick himself took the stage. Seagull could barely contain his astonishment.

Seagull’s stunned expression and subsequent expletive-laden comments were an entirely appropriate response to the reveal. Seagull gazed on with disbelief as the living legend took the stage not only to confirm his involvement with the game but also to reveal the games release date, April 16, 2020.

In the clip, you can see Seagull struggle to form cohesive thoughts. “What?” came first as he questioned if what he was seeing could really be happening. “WHAT!?” he exclaimed as it became clear his eyes did not deceive him. “WHAT THE F****!? WHAT THE F***”!?” was all he could say as Keanu began to address his adoring fans. The energy in that room was electric and Seagull was practically radiating from it.

E3 is no stranger to celebrity appearances during the big press conferences. Though, they typically come off as either compulsory (such as the yearly appearance of a pro athlete promoting a new sports title during EA’s show) or just downright awkward (Yoko Ono anyone?). This celebrity appearance, however, was nothing short of exhilarating.

If you were unable to watch the conference live then this clip is a pretty good indicator of the extreme hype level this game has now achieved. Seagull’s final thoughts on the matter were as simple as they were profound: “This is f***ing AWESOME!” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
