Secretlab has become synonymous with luxury gaming chairs, and for good reason. I’ve had the opportunity to test drive half a dozen gaming chairs over the past several years, but I always come back to Secretlab in the end thanks to the superior build quality, comfort, and style they offer. The new Titan Evo 2022 is a massive upgrade over the 2020 model in a number of key ways that make it the most comfortable and customizable version yet. The League of Legends Ruination Collection is a set of three Titan Evo 2022 chairs styled after League characters Viego, Miss Fortune, and Pike. Each one is an absolute work of art with stunning design, patterns, and stitching that would make even the most casual LoL fan swoon. I didn’t imagine that the new model could improve on the previous one in any significant way, but the Titan Evo 2022 has proven to be a worthy successor and the absolute best chair I’ve ever tested.

The Secretlab experience starts the moment you open the box. The laminated assembly instructions have clear directions and giant pictures to help you quickly assemble your seat. Each component is individually wrapped or boxed, and it's clear that a ton of care and quality assurance went into every piece. It’s such an impressive presentation that it even comes with a full-size, branded screwdriver just to remove a single safety screw. I’m not saying Secretlab chairs are worth the price because they come with a screwdriver, but it communicates the level of quality and care you can expect from any Secretlab product.

Assembling the chair isn’t any more difficult than the previous model or other gaming chairs I’ve put together. The hardest part is still attaching the back rest to the seat because you have to line up two brackets on the seat and the back is pretty heavy. I was able to do it solo by bracing the seat against a wall, but it’d be a lot better if you had some help. Similarly, dropping the assembled chair onto the base can be difficult by yourself, but not impossible. The entire assembly process took me around 20 minutes, though this isn’t my first rodeo.

The upgrades in the 2022 version are immediately apparent. My absolute favorite thing is the new adjustable lumbar support. In the previous model, you could only increase the depth of support, but not the height. In the new model, there are two knobs you can use to increase the depth and raise the height so that you get that back support exactly where you need it. This is the big feature I was missing from the 2020 version, and it’s made a huge difference in my comfort.

I’m really impressed by the new magnetic features as well. The memory foam headrest attaches to the backrest magnetically this time, making it much easier to adjust up and down to the right position. The previous model used an elastic strap that always seemed to pop off my chair, but this is so much better.

Similarly, the new CloudSwap armrests attach magnetically on either side for easier cleaning and replacement. The PU foam armrests are so much softer and smoother, and I love the option to easily replace them when they eventually wear out. The arms have the same three-point height, angle, and width adjustment as the previous model, but they have a lot less wiggle than they used to, which makes them feel studier to me.

While the seat itself feels just the same as the previous model to me, the art design is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I’ve been testing the Pyke model from the League of Legends Ruination Collection, and I’ve been blown away by the detail in the patterns and designs. The backrest has blue scales and red triangles stitched into the sides, with gray accents on the edge and Pike’s dagger stitched into the center with incredible detail. On the back is an honest-to-God mural depicting the currents of a river and the scales of a jaull-fish on its side wings. As a League fan my eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw it, but my non-gamer partner was similarly impressed by the artwork.

At $479 USD, this special edition Titan Evo 2022 is a far cry from your standard office chair, but I think the quality really speaks for itself. It’s a chair that's built to last and has enough customization options that it can really transform to fit your comfort needs. Not only is there a two-way adjustable lumbar support and three-point armrest adjustment, but you’ve also got a title resistance knob and tilt lock, height adjustment, and enough recline to practically lay out completely flat. It’s a nicer seat than a lot of luxury cars have and between size, upholstery, color, and pattern choices, you’re practically guaranteed to find a seat that's perfect for you. If you play everyday or work from home, you owe it to yourself to get a great chair that’s going to keep you comfortable and pain-free, and that’s exactly what I’ve found with Secretlabs.
