Serial Cleaners was one of the stand-out exhibits at the Future Game Show with its '90s aesthetic, detailed levels, and distinct art style. The game follows four people, who clean up crime scenes for the mafia before the authorities pick up on it. It was announced back in 2020, but will finally launch on September 22 this year.

The game builds on Serial Cleaner (singular) by Draw Distance, launched in 2017. It features four mafia cleaners, whose job it is to clean up crime scenes after mafia hits. The four of them meet up for a drink and talk about some of their biggest jobs over the years. However, they soon find out that the jobs they carried out were linked, and not in a good way.

The Steam page for Serial Cleaners describes it as "An homage to 90s cinema - from Tarantino’s classics through cult crime thrillers to B-movie action favorites and more - Serial Cleaners remixes those familiar places, characters and scenes into its own unique spin on a decade full of brightly colored optimism... and the grime underneath it all. Our rich soundtrack is composed of many genres that defined the end of the 20th century, from East Coast hip hop to industrial metal and rave."

In terms of gameplay, Serial Cleaners offers, "Four characters, four perspectives, four play styles. Street smarts, brute force, cutting-edge tech skills or good old fashioned tricks of the trade: each will allow you to tackle a similar obstacle much differently. Choose your path through the non-linear story by picking the part of the narrative you want to hear next, and then approach each mission as carefully or brazenly as you like. Utilize stealth, exploration and speed as the situation - and your preferred experience - warrants it. Get rid of the bodies and other damning evidence to wipe the decade's slate clean before the new millennium comes!"

Another major announcement from the Future Games Show was the shadow drop of Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise on Steam by Swery65. The previously Nintendo Switch exclusive game is now available to download on Steam at a 30 percent discount.
