Asa Butterfield, best known for playing Otis Milburn in the Netflix comedy Sex Education, has signed on to Team Liquid, a leading professional gaming organization established in 2000. Although the company has not specified what the 23-year-old British actor will be doing for them, Butterfield has previously competed in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Butterfield has also been listed with the Panda Global esports organization since 2019, under the gamer tag Stimpy. His first appearance with the organization was at Genesis 6. In 2017, he competed in the Nintendo World Championships, where he was eliminated early in the invitational.

The actor, who has starred in two seasons of Sex Education, has also been featured in movies such as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and The Space Between Us. At age 11, he received nominations for the British Independent Film Award and the London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year for his role in the Holocaust drama The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

On Twitter, Team Liquid wrote, “Welcome to the Liquid Family, @asabfb. We’re happy to have you on board and look forward to seeing what you accomplish next. (Also if we ever need a sub for dota or smash, you're getting a call). The actor responded writing, “Thanks for bringing me in gang, let’s do some coooool shit.”

As of now, Butterfield has not been added to Liquid’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team. Although some have suggested online that he may be a streamer for the organization, his Twitch account, which has 2,000 followers, has been inactive since 2017.

It would be hard to imagine that Butterfield would leave acting for gaming full-time. He is due to film Season 3 of Sex Education, where he stars as the teenage son of a sex therapist, played by Gillian Anderson. He also appeared in three episodes of 50 States of Fright, a horror anthology series that debuted on Quibi on April 6. In addition, he has taught an annual acting masterclass at The Reel Scene acting school in London since 2017.
