Sherlock Holmes Chapter One finally has a release date, with the game coming to PC and next-gen consoles later this year on November 16. The release date was revealed by Frogwares Head of Production Serge Chervonnyi in an official PlayStation.Blog post today, detailing the game's unique DualSense features.

According to Chervonnyi, the DualSense controller on PS5 will feature heavily in the game, using the controller's haptic feedback to vibrate when putting together crime scenes. The DualSense will also vibrate on each side of the controller to hint at where further clues are, and will have trigger resistance when Sherlock has to pick up a revolver.

Chervonnyi also explains the game's plot for those who may not be up to date with pre-release marketing. Sherlock Holmes Chapter One has players take on the role of a much younger Sherlock while he tries to figure out who he really is. While this version of Sherlock is young and cocky, you'll experience the events that turned him into the man we all know and love.

The game takes place on the Mediterranean island of Cordona in the late 1880's, a place that just so happens to hold answers to the mysterious death of Sherlock's mother. There will be a number of side cases to solve throughout the island as well as different areas that will require Sherlock to disguise himself as various different characters.

Unfortunately, the November 16 release date is only for the PC and next-gen versions of the game, with the Xbox One and PS4 versions having been delayed. According to developer Frogwares, this is due to QA testing on the last-gen versions not meeting the standards the team would like, but assures fans that the delay is "a few weeks at most."

If you'd like to see more of the gameplay before you pre-order, Frogwares released a detailed gameplay trailer at the beginning of the year which shows off some of the combat as well as disguises needed to fully explore Cordona.
