It's been a little while since Western Shin Megami Tensei fans had much news, but Atlus West just announced that series enthusiasts outside of Japan can now purchase tickets for the Shin Megami Tensei Online Live Concert on March 19.
With less than a month away, the US-based Atlus account retweeted the news from the official Shin Megami Tensei account. The 2021 ~Reason of Music~ live performance will stream for fans around the world in its new digital format, practicing safety precautions against the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The show will host both performances and MC sessions, leaving fans hopeful there may be some special announcements.
In the official Atlus West tweet, a tease of the musical set was shared as the company mentioned Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne's HD Remaster would be present.
It's important to note that even though you can live outside of Japan and enjoy the broadcast, there will be no official subtitles in any other language. The performances and MC segments will be available in Japanese only. Tickets are available on the official Zaiko website for ¥3,666 (~$34.80). Purchasing a ticket for the March 21 performance will unlock access to the video archive until March 27, so no worries if you're late to watch the show.
This performance is a follow-up to the sold-out, in-person 2017 Shin Megami Tensei live, but is taking place in a digital format like many shows of the Covid-19 era. This performance is planned for an all-Japanese event, but some fans are hopeful that Atlus West will use this as an opportunity to share more information about the release of Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD in the West. It has since launched overseas, but fans outside of Japan still do not have an official English release.
However, what's more likely is that Atlus may share updates on Shin Megami Tensei 5. First announced on the Nintendo Switch back in 2017, we've seen very little in the way of new updates on the game's progress. Early in 2020, Atlus did share a new trailer that teased a 2021 launch, but we've yet to see learn if the coronavirus pandemic will impact this date.
