As promised in Sifu's roadmap published earlier this year, the kung fu action title will receive a brand-new arenas mode in its Winter update. On top of that, the game is also getting a release on Xbox and Steam just over a year since the game was released on the Epic Games Store and PlayStation. As shown in IGN's teaser video, the upcoming arenas mode will have the unnamed hero take on waves of opponents to unlock new modifiers that "double the current game's amount and notably brings alternative moves to the Kung Fu palette of our main character." Completing arenas challenges will also unlock new cheats as well as new outfits, too.Related: TheGamer Game Of The Year Editor's Pick, 2022 - Axel BossoBut the big news is Sifu coming to Steam and Xbox after what appears to be a year-long exclusive period on PlayStation and the Epic Games Store. Over that period, developer Sloclap has been steadily adding content to its martial arts masterpiece, including new game modifiers, new outfits, more finely-tuned difficulty options, as well as advanced training for students looking to become true masters.

Sloclap says Sifu's winter update will arrive sometime in March 2023, which will also be when it comes to Steam and Xbox. You can wishlist the game now to be notified when a release date is announced.

In other Sifu news, Deadline reports that the game heavily inspired by martial arts films will receive a live-action film adaptation courtesy of Derek Kolstad, the same guy who wrote John Wick. Producers are already lined up, and the pitch is something along the lines of "John Wick meets M. Night Shyamalan's Old." There's no release date or cast yet, so stay tuned for more details as they're announced.
