Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be a massive project by the incredible team over at CD Projekt Red. Taking the world of the classic RPG board game Cyberpunk, CD Projekt Red has seemingly gone above and beyond in capturing the cruel and bright neon dystopian future of Cyberpunk. While our previews into early gameplay footage have been brief, the amount of content show is breathtaking and showcased a game with an overwhelming amount of depth.

We can come to expect that dialogue options players have will be extensive, and the game will not limit how you choose to interact with the world. From cybernetic augmentations to improve speech to skipping pleasantries to solve a problem with your sidearm, there is no limit for how your protagonist can act. For those of us who like taking a more reserved approach when it comes to dialogue, will we have our moment to shine? Yes.

Back in June, VG247 talked with Cyberpunk's lead story writer Tomasz Marchewka. In the interview, Tomasz mentioned that while insulting other NPCs has apparent consequences, even "staying silent" can yield striking consequences for players in interactions. Something quite interesting about this detail is how exploring the world of Cyberpunk 2077 as a mute will pan out.

Will the game indeed have extensive narrative routes for being silent? Or will the game lead players down the same preset paths with minimal variations? There is hope that all your interactions will shape your playthrough quite extensively as Tomasz  mentions that the world will "react to whatever you do." If you go around guns a-blazing in one mission, you will be feared in another mission. Stay quiet or do nothing, then other characters might call you soft.

Cyberpunk 2077 will have snappy and immersive dialogue, as Tomasz mentioned writing dialogue that felt natural by not being too expository when guiding players throughout the game. Likewise, the introduction of having some dialogue options be time-limited will immerse players through some tense moments. Cyberpunk 2077 is just right around the corner, and we can't wait to get our hands on the game.
