Silent Hill 2 is being remade. That’s the news announced last night in Konami’s presentation revealing a whole slew of Silent Hill games that are currently in development. Silent Hill 2 seems to be the furthest along among the games announced, with a PlayStation Blog confirming the game will be built on Unreal Engine 5 and take full advantage of the PS5’s current-gen hardware.
Unfortunately, all this bleeding-edge tech is going to come at a price to PC gamers. Silent Hill 2’s minimum and recommended PC specs are quite possibly the highest I’ve ever seen.
At a bare minimum, Bloober Team and Konami are saying that you'll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 just to play Silent Hill 2 "on Low/Medium quality settings in FullHD (1080p) in stable 30 fps." To play at "Medium quality settings in 60 fps or High quality settings in 30 fps," you'll need an RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon 6800XT.

The only game I know of that even comes close to matching these requirements is Gotham Knights, which recommends an RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700XT to play at 1080p and 60fps on high-quality settings. If you want even higher resolutions, you’ll likely need to enable either FSR or DLSS.
The good news is you've got at least 9 months before you'll have to come up with either a PS5 or an RTX 2080 to play the Silent Hill 2 remake. Quite possibly longer, given how often games get delayed these days.
