The Sims has been a staple in the video game world ever since the original title and its ensuing expansion packs were introduced more than 20 years ago. Even though the fourth game in the series is now the latest, some people prefer to play the older ones. Sometimes extra features and a more polished product don't work for some people. They prefer a game where a newborn baby can show up at your house unexpectedly and scorn you for cheating on its dad.

No, that's not a randomly pieced-together example from some of the weird stuff that used to happen on older Sims games. That is actually something that happened to a Sims 2 player very recently, and by sharing their experience on Reddit, they have discovered it isn't an isolated incident. “My sim's newborn baby is furious with her mother (who no longer lives in the same home) and keeps showing up at her new home,” the post explains.

Subrosashredder gives a little more context to the situation in the comments. The blue-haired woman pictured in the post cheated on her partner and when rumbled, she and her older child were kicked out of the house. All very dramatic, but to make matters worse, the poor little newborn baby was present for this whole thing and now lives in a house without its mother. You might assume that's why it keeps randomly popping up on the sidewalk outside her new home, but no.

According to subrosashredder, the reason the baby keeps turning up outside its mom's new house is because it's angry that she cheated. The Redditor moves items around to delete the baby, thus sending it back to its own house, only for the newborn to keep returning. The mom will find the baby, pick it up, bring it in and feed it, all while the little one is apparently developed enough to be seething at its mom for what she did.

As touched upon above, the OP sharing this story has revealed this isn't a weird bug or something that has only happened to them. One of the replies reveals something similar happened following a love triangle between Sims stalwarts Don, Dina, and Mortimer, and seeing this unfold for someone else has finally explained why it happened to them. Another revealed that after a falling out with the Unsavory Charlatan character, he would keep stopping by and just lurking outside their house, even getting brave enough to come in and play video games one time. It seems newborn babies have the power to drag themselves between houses in The Sims 2, but popping in to play games uninvited might be a step too far.
