In Sims 4: Discover University knowing the right degree to take can be confusing. Both universities offer a range of choices and each has different advantages and skills connected to it.

The University of Britechester focuses on the arts and humanities. It offers distinguished degrees in Art History, Communications, Culinary Arts, Drama, Fine Art, History, and Language and Literature. Meanwhile, Foxbury Institute focuses on science and technology. It offers distinguished degrees in Biology, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Psychology, and Villainy.

13 Art History

In order to gain entry to the distinguished course, you'll need to focus on the core skills of charisma, painting, and writing. Having these at level 3 or above will increase your chances of acceptance.

Once you have obtained your degree, it can give you advantages in the following careers: painter, patron of the arts branch, style influencer, trendsetter branch, and, if you have City Living, you can also become an art critic.

12 Biology

The Biology degree focuses on the core skills of fitness, gardening, and logic. These will all help you succeed in gaining entry to a higher level course at Foxbury Institute.

Once you have your qualification, base game players can pursue a career in the bodybuilder branch of the athletic career. For those with DLC packs, the degree is used for the active doctor career from Get To Work. You can also be a gardener in the botanist branch if you have Seasons or choose the marine biologist branch of the conservationist career if you prefer Island Living.

11 Communications

A degree in communications requires sims to brush up on charisma, logic, and writing skills. These will help you gain boosts in business and journalism.

Base game players can become a more successful writer by pursuing the journalism branch of the writing career and sims taking the management branch of the business career will also benefit. Finally, City Living owners can enter the public relations branch of the social media career.

10 Computer Science

Unsurprisingly, programming and robotics are your friends here. Focusing on programming first, then joining Foxbury's robotics club is a great way to cover this.

The degree leads to a bonus in Discover University's engineering career in the engineer branch. You'll also get a boost as a criminal in the oracle branch, a freelancer in the programmer branch or a tech guru in the start-up entrepreneur branch.

9 Culinary Arts

Sims who love cooking should work on their culinary skills and get their applications in fast to boost themselves for a career in food, either making or eating it.

Base game players can pursue the chef branch of the culinary career and those with City Living can become a food critic.

8 Drama

If your sim has a penchant for the dramatic then their charisma and comedy are the core skills to focus on.

Once they've earned a degree, then the base game entertainer career receives a boost in the comedian branch. Drama also benefits those in the internet personality branch of the social media career from City Living and any actors who have Get Famous.

7 Economics

For those interested in a career as an education administrator or business investor then economics is the degree for you. Those with Island Living can also work as an environmental manager in the conservationist career

To pursue this degree you need skills in charisma, logic and research and debate. The latter skill comes with Discover University and can be built easily while at university.

6 Fine Art

A fine art degree will require your sims to have skills in painting, photography or violin in order to gain a place on the distinguished course. The degree also gives a boost to more careers than expected.

Those with base game can become a musician, freelance digital artist, master of the real painter or a stylist. You can also gain a boost as a floral designer if you have Seasons and a freelance fashion photographer if you have Moschino Stuff.

5 History

For those looking to the past, a history degree may be for you. That is assuming you have the skills in charisma, logic or research and debate needed to get onto the course.

A history degree will give you a boost in the judicial branch of the law career that comes with Discover University. Those with City Living can also become a politician or, if you have Strangerville, the officer branch of the military career also benefits from this degree.

4 Language And Literature

A classic subject, language and literature requires skills in charisma, research and debate or writing. These will help you study the distinguished degree and get ahead in a few different areas.

The base game options linked to this subject are a freelance writer or an author in the writing career. You can also choose the private attorney branch of the law career that comes with Discover University.

3 Physics

Foxbury's science department also offers a physics degree that requires skills in handiness, robotics or rocket science. If you gain entry you can expect to enjoy a fun-filled degree and a more unique career.

A degree in psychology will require sims to brush up on their charisma, logic and research and debate skills. For those who are up to the challenge, it will lead to a few quite varied career boosts.

The base game boost is as a diamond agent in the secret agent career, while the Discover University specific option is a professor in the education career. Finally, you can be a detective if you have Get To Work or a covert operator in the military if you have Strangerville.

If you find traditional subjects boring, then the villainy degree is for you. Brushing up on your fitness, logic, and mischief will help you get ahead as you prepare for a life of crime.

All the careers given the boost are in the base game and will reward you greatly in terms of financial gain as they are some of the highest-paid in the game. The astronaut career offers an interstellar smuggler branch, the criminal career a boss branch and for those aiming higher you can become a villain in the secret agent career.
