Ever since earlier in the month with the "leak" of the next expansion pack for The Sims 4 being University-related, the internet has been buzzing from the excitement and curiosity of Simmers. Just a few days ago the official trailer for The Sims 4: Discover University dropped, sating part of player's curiosity and getting them even more excited! The game is set to be released on November 15th, where players can send their Sims to Britechester to either study at the town's historic university or at the modern Foxbury Institute. The trailer shows us Sims studying, building robots, playing soccer, debating and even sporting bold new looks with piercings and tattoos. Here are 10 Things Fan Missed In The Sims 4: Discover University Trailer.

8 New Handshake

Seen later on in the trailer, after the Sim in the green jacket wins her debate she's seen doing what appears to be a secret handshake with another Sim. With the release of Get  Together and clubs, one of the perks is the ability to select a secret club handshake that sims can either do autonomously when they're excited and they greet another club member, or when the player chooses to do it manually. It may be possible that one or more handshakes have been added in for the different school organizations.

One might even be able to speculate that Discover University might give players the option to join a fraternity or a sorority, like in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, and it's possible that these fraternities and sororities will have their own secret handshake.

7 New Paintings

In the official description for The Sims 4 Discover University, it's implied that Sims will be able to get an Arts degree as there is a class for Art History. At the beginning of the trailer, one of the quick shots over the campus shows a group of Sims on the quad with easels, seeming to paint a live subject as a professor tutors one of them.

The paintings shown are new and are of varying degrees of skill. It can be assumed that there might be even more painting options that can be unlocked as Sims increase their Painting Skill.

6 New Food Stand

It's a hard catch but during the opening sequence of the trailer as the logo and the name of the expansion pack are revealed, a wide pan of the campus shows that there is some type of stand located in the quad of one of the schools. The expansion pack City Living introduced food and souvenir stalls and every game and expansion pack since then has included a new type of stall. So it's pretty likely that Discover University will also have at least one new food stall on a community lot.

It isn't known what kind of food might be served at these stalls, but one can speculate that it'll be food and drinks that one can typically find on a college campus.

5 Possible New "Career" Reward Unlockables

It's been announced that Sims will be able to study Robotics and Computer Science which will give them skills in an Engineering career. And one of the biggest focuses of the trailer was showing off Robotics, it looks as if Sims will be able to build several different types of robots. There are a lot of new items based around Robotics, including three new wall arts. Two of the wall arts seem to be a patent and a blueprint for possibly something related to Robotics.

They could be wall art that will automatically be available in Build/Buy, but it is possible that they're unlockables which will be available either from making a discovery, (like when using the telescope) or from reaching certain skill levels.

The last expansion pack, Get Famous, introduced drones to the game. There are two kinds, the Adam Streaming Drone and the Gotta Steam 'em All Steaming Drone and they're used for the media production skill, allowing sims to remotely record and steam their videos.

In the introduction to Foxbury Institute, a sim can be seen controlling a new type of drone in the background. The way Sims interact with this drone seems to be different from how they interact with the ones from Get Famous. The Sim in the background is actively controlling the drone, while with the drones from Get Famous, a Sim turns it on and the drone follows them around.

4 New Bar

No university would be complete without a nearby pub for all the students to go hang out and relax at. Though all the drinks are just "juice" it still has the feel of a classic college pub. And what pub would be complete without a bar?

Its design sets it apart from most of the rest of the bars in the game and really mixes well with the theme of Discover University. One can only speculate what new drinks might come with it. Will Sims have their own versions of Jungle Juice, Jagerbombs and White Claws?

3 City In The Background

This one was really easy to miss and is more speculation than any sort of content that might come with the new expansion pack. As a trailer presents a bird's eyes view of Britechester you can see in the distant the shapes of tall skyscrapers in the distance. It might make one wonder just where Britechester is located in relationship to the rest of the worlds.

Other than the assumption that Magnolia Promenade and Willow Creek are either near or apart of one another, there hasn't been much to suggest where any other place is in relation to one another. But, if it's assumed that the buildings in the distance relate to one of the other worlds, and the types of trees and plants in Britehester then one could speculate that it exists somewhere between Willow Creek and possibly San Myshuno.

2 New Laptop

Laptops were first introduced into the series in The Sims 3: University, allowing sims to use them nearly anywhere including on the couch. Laptops came back when StrangerVille was released (and then a free update) and while they aren't as portable, it is possible for Sims to carry them around in their pockets and set them at any table or desk.

In the trailer we see a Sim using a laptop and while it looks similar to the laptop from StrangerVille, the stickers that decorate it suggest it's new. One can only assume that with Discover University there will be at least a few new interactions related to the laptop and other computers.

From the trailer, we got a glimpse at quite a few of the Build/Buy objects that Discover University has to offer. Discover University advertises the ability to decorate your Sims' dorm rooms to express their personality. It comes with a lot of items that most would consider a must-have for a dorm, like a bed, a desk and chair, and even a mini-fridge! It even looks like it's slotted on the top for a microwave.

In past games, the only food available in the mini-fridge were snacks, cold food and microwavable foods like tv dinners, if you had a microwave to use. What will the options be for this new mini-fridge?

1 Two-Piece Mascot Suit

In Discover University we see that there are two schools, The University of Britechester and Foxbury Institue who are rivals. Their rivalry even seems to reach as far as their mascots as we can see the two going head to head, a dragon for Britechester and a lobster (why not a fox?) for Foxbury. The Sims 4 has had mascots since Get To Work. One of the positions in the Athlete career is to be the team's mascot. However, this and other mascot outfits have always been full-body.

But in the trailer we see a Sim walking around in a towel with just the head of the mascot outfit. Could this mean that the mascot outfits come in 2 pieces?
