As with most Sims games, The Sims 4 is a mainly PC game that is filled to the brim with all sorts of content. However, EA also does this cute little thing where they’ll continually leave things out of the base game in order to sell it to you later as an expansion. Dawwww isn’t that sweet? While this is the normal awful EA business model, it certainly does get the wheels turning as to what else could be added into the game through expansions. Considering most are $40, the limits of what these expansions can add in are pretty wide open. Today, we’ll be taking a look at 10 expansions that we need to see for The Sims 4. Let’s get into it.
10 Robot Sims
One feature of Sims 4 that was a bit neglected was the different types of non-human Sims available in previous games. While some were added back in through expansions (such as Vampires), Robot Sims have yet to make a return. Robot Sims had all sorts of fun features back in the day, such as forcing any Sim near them into a revulsed state, but also still being able to WooHoo. Okay, interesting. Let’s bring back whatever’s going on there, please.
9 More Pets
Another great feature to add to Sims 4 would be the ability to have more pets. While the Cats and Dogs expansion gives you access to these creatures, raccoons, and foxes, the ability to have other animals such as ferrets would be a great addition to the currently available line-up.
Another great addition to the game would be exotic creatures such as Zebras or Flamingos. We know you’re thirsty for money EA. You literally always are. Come on, just do it.
8 University
One expansion that we haven’t seem come back in The Sims 4 is university living! In previous incarnations, young adult Sims had the ability to actually go to and live at college. This was a completely new aspect of the game, that added a huge amount of content and new areas to your town. Also, if you cheat too much, sometimes your game will glitch out and your Sim won’t be allowed to leave the lot to go and take her finals, ultimately resulting in her grades dropping 2 letter grades. Totally not at all a personal experience.
7 Witches
Another old feature that we’ve yet to see come back from older Sims game is the ability to become a witch or warlock. These Sims, depending on whether or not they are good or evil, gain distinct abilities and even cat familiars, something that no other type of Sim has access to.
When your Sim becomes a witch, a whole new world of options is explorable, allowing for a lot of fun, brand new ways to play opening up. We need to see witches come back sooner rather than later.
6 A Story Mode
One of the interesting aspects of the non-PC versions (varying in quality levels) of The Sims in the past have been the inclusion of story mode. Many of these console and handheld entries had them, and they were always a blast to play through. Some sort of story mode that you could play through with any Sim of your choice would be a fantastic addition to The Sims 4. While this is highly unlikely, it would be a fun idea to see implemented.
5 Whatever Urbz Was
Also wildly unrealistic, but still a fun idea. The Urbz: Sims in the City was a weird fever dream of a console-only Sims game that literally made no sense and also featured the Black Eyed Peas for some reason. You went clubbing and liberated cities and all sorts of other nonsense that was a blast to play through. Bring all of this back, including the Black Eyed Peas. You could also definitely accidentally set Fergie on fire. Don’t set Fergie on fire.
4 Personalities Pack
One of the more restrictive aspects of The Sims 4 is the lack of broad personalities and traits to choose from. There’s really not that many to pick from when you really look at it, and some sort of a game pack featuring new personalities and skills would be a great addition to the game that would allow further tuning of your Sims to fit your ideas. This one better not be one of the $40 packs though. Absolutely not.
3 Housing Options
At first, this one seemed a little out there, but your Sims can literally become plants, so meh. Let us live wherever we want. Underwater house? Done. Spaceship? Absolutely. Give players free rein to choose from the craziest neighborhoods possible for our Sims to live in. This would add a lot of variety to the game, with each location being a blast to explore and move Sims into. Let us live in a volcano. Let us live out our wildest dreams EA.
2 Cars
Just like toddlers for two years, cars don’t exist in The Sims 4. Why? Who knows? EA probably. Truly, why this feature was removed from all previous Sims titles really makes no sense to me. If cars were to be added back in, it would need to be through a smaller game pack or stuff pack, but this nice little addition would be a welcomed one by fans of the series. How these haven’t already been added back in yet is truly a mystery.
1 More Sim Types
While robots were mentioned earlier, a great new area for The Sims to dive into through an expansion pack would be the ability to create types of Sim creatures that they’ve never before touched. Faries, centaurs, leprechauns, the whole nine yards! Letting players get super creative with the types of Sims that they create would absolutely be worth the price of an expansion pack. Hopefully, the dev team reads this article. We have some great ideas for them in here.
