Even though The Sims 4 is a super fun game in The Sims franchise, we have to admit that the old games were pretty fun, too. The first three games in The Sims series had expansion packs and gameplay features that made the games a ton of fun. While The Sims 4 has added so much to the game that makes controlling our Sims entertaining, we kind of miss some of those old features.

It's hard to say whether or not these things will ever be re-introduced into The Sims 4. Considering the team already has so much planned in the way of new expansion packs and awesome new features, it's impossible to say what will be introduced next.

10 Scripted Events

Anyone who has played any of the premade families in The Sims 2 is likely familiar with the game's scripted events. The game has a certain order that the developers recommend players play through the premade Sims in. This order will make certain things happen in a certain order. Things like Don and Cassandra's possibly unsuccessful wedding, Dustin and Angela sneaking out, and Daniel and Mary-Sue having marital issues are all events that are scripted to happen.

Considering several of these families were brought back into The Sims 4, it would be nice to have some scripted events that are set to happen between the different premade families again.

9 Favorite Foods And Colors

Create-a-Sim has so many ways for us to personalize our Sims. From the way they look and dress to the way they walk and talk and even their traits, our Sims are completely unique. But, in The Sims 3, there were even more things in Create-a-Sim that we were able to choose and customize.

One Create-a-Sim feature that didn't make a comeback in The Sims 4 was the fact that we could choose our Sim's favorite food and color. There are mods that let us pick a favorite food for our Sims and have them get a moodlet if they eat it, but it's just not the same as having it already in the game.

8 Interests

The different traits in The Sims 4 will often make your Sim get whims to do certain things. For instance, a creative Sim will often want to paint or look at art while an athletic Sim will want to buy workout equipment and hit the gym.

But in The Sims 2, there was another way that Sims were able to get hobbies. After a Sim took part in an activity like reading, playing video games, or painting, they would become interested in it. As they did it more and more, their interest would get stronger and they could talk and blog about their interests! It even changed the way that they befriended or became attracted to other Sims.

7 Online Dating

In The Sims 3, it was pretty easy to meet a Sim for yours to fall in love with. If they were too busy to talk to neighbors or head to a community lot to try to meet a Sim the old fashioned way, all they had to do was sit down at their computer. There, they could put a profile on a dating app with their interests and traits and meet other Sims.

In The Sims 4, there are so many different places for a Sim to meet the love of their life. But one thing that we totally miss is the online dating system. This was a really fun way for Sims to meet and get to know each other!

6 Zodiac Signs

In The Sims 4, we're able to pick our Sim's traits out of a big list of different traits that include things like outgoing, clumsy, cheerful, and materialistic. While picking these definitive traits is definitely a good way to make your Sims exactly the way you want them, the original Sims game had a pretty unique version of this.

Instead of picking specific traits, we were given a certain number of points that we would then assign to traits on a scale. We could put the points toward the Sim either being messy or neat, friendly or introverted, and other similar personality traits. Then, they would be given a zodiac sign.

5 Unique NPCs

In The Sims 2, there were some pretty unique NPCs that were never brought back. Although The Sims 4 has some NPCs like the Grim Reaper and Father Winter, there were a lot more in The Sims 2 that had unique features.

If life wasn't going great for your Sim or they were having a total bummer of a party, the Tragic Clown or the Mime would show up. Likewise, if their party was going well, Drew Carey would stop by! If your Sim lived a long life and passed to the other side as a result of old age, Hula Zombies would accompany the Grim Reaper.

4 Dating Wants And Fears

In The Sims 4, anyone who has ever sent their Sim on a date will know there are certain goals that the player has to reach in order for the date to have been a success. Things like talking to their date a certain number of times, kissing, and flirting are all things that the Sim has to do in order for the date to have been a success.

In The Sims 2, there was a similar system but it was more specific to each Sim. The Sim that your Sim was on a date with would have their own list of wants and fears. Completing their wants and avoiding their fears would make the date's rating rise. The better the date went, the more time you would have to reach Dream Date status.

3 Attraction And Chemistry

In The Sims, it's basically possible to get your Sim to date any other Sim that you may want them to. Even if their traits aren't completely compatible, it's possible to get them to see past that and fall in love! How romantic is that?

In The Sims 2, there was no guessing about whether or not your Sim actually wanted to be with another Sim. If you looked at your Sim's relationships, you could see just how attracted or not attracted to another Sim they were. It was based on many factors including turn ons and offs, traits, and aspirations. A Sim could either appear in the relationships tab with a red X, nothing, or anywhere from one to three lightning bolts to signify that your Sim found them unattractive or irresistible.

2 Newspapers

Newspapers were a part of the Sims franchise up until the most recent release. Considering the fact that newspapers just aren't as popular as they once were, it's no surprise that they're not as big of a part of the franchise anymore.

Newspapers were good for entertainment and were a place for you to find a career for your Sim. Every day, a selection of careers would appear in the newspaper. If none of them were what you wanted your Sim to do, well... Better luck tomorrow. Although the way that careers are handled now is way more convenient, we can't deny that we kind of miss seeing the paper delivered everyday.

1 Turn Ons And Offs

In Create-a-Sim in The Sims 2, there were a lot of ways that you could really customize your Sim's personality, not just the way they looked. One part of their personality that a player could customize that would totally change the rest of the game was their turn ons and turn offs.

Sims could be turned on or off by various different physical and lifestyle attributes. Things like wearing makeup, having facial hair, or having a job were available on the list. This would change the Sims that your Sim would find themselves attracted to!
