In The Sims 4: Get Famous your sims can choose to pursue fame through many different paths. There is a new active career as well as some new items that help you pursue fame in alternative ways.

Successful simmers can choose to live the high life in a luxurious mansion in Del Sol Valley, surrounded by the highest priced furniture the game has to offer. Note that the pack does not buy taste, you have to make your own choices on that one.

While fame is the focus of the pack there are a few unexpected surprises thrown in as well. Here are the facts and features you need to know before you decide if Get Famous is the pack for you.

10 You Can Live The Celebrity Life In Del Sol Valley

Sims can enjoy a luxury lifestyle in the new world of Del Sol Valley. The area comprises a downtown area with VIP bars, a walk of fame, and other community lots. There's also a luxurious hilltop neighborhood that is packed with famous faces.

For those just starting out, the town also has a smaller residential area with cheaper houses and blander views.

9 Be A Star With The Fame System

If you want your sims to be a star then this pack is the one for you since it introduces the fame system. Your sims will earn fame as their work and name become more well known. Reputation also becomes important and your interactions with others will determine this.

You can become famous for anything that gives you exposure to the public and the reputation gains will also be the same. Just be aware of the quirks of fame. Sims can end up addicted to juice, glued to their phones, and other such drawbacks.

8 Keep Out The Riff Raff With VIP Bars

In the glittering downtown, where celebrity names are added to the sidewalks and awards ceremonies take place there are some VIP bars. These use a new VIP door system to disallow sims below a certain fame level.

Anyone not famous enough to get in can try their luck with the sims on the door but we can't guarantee it will end well. Still, at least you'll likely get to see a celebrity and one day that could be you, drifting in past the velvet rope while your fans scream your name outside.

7 Earn Fame Points

Fame comes with a reward point-based system. This allows you to gain perks as you become more famous. It works similarly to occult point-based systems and also comes with some quirks.

Quirks are gained at random and will influence your sims behavior. They could see them become slaves to the paparazzi, gain extra fans, or end up addicted to their phones.

6 Watch Your Reputation

Your reputation will also change depending on how you interact with others, including your fans. Sims' actions guide both their quirks and reputation, meaning their personality can affect how they handle fame.

Those who donate to charity, interact with others, and play nicely will gain more friendships and successful relationships than those who choose a different path.

5 Try Your Hand At The Active Acting Career

The main focus of the pack, aside from the fame system, is the interactive acting career. Sims must first register with an agency before they can begin attending auditions. Skills and confidence are required to pass and move on to actually working with gigs stating the skills required.

Starting with commercials and climbing the ladder, players can go with their sims and help them learn lines, get camera ready, and follow the director's orders. Keep working hard and the jobs and pay will increase, along with your fame. You can also socialize with your co-workers for extra rewards.

4 Use New Items To Kickstart A Content Creator Career

If acting isn't for you then you can also gain fame with the new video production and music production items. These desks are specific to this pack and allow sims to create and edit videos or music. These can then be published to earn royalties and fame.

There are different styles of video and music available and the items allow you to build up a career in the same way you can by writing books or songs. You'll also earn skill points as you produce content, allowing you to increase its quality and subsequent success over time.

3 Lock Up Your Valuables In A Vault

If you've always wanted to stash your simoleons in a vault then now you can. Especially for your new mansion, there is a huge vault door that can be placed in any room. This creates a safe space for your money but it also has other, far less safe uses.

Sims can enjoy a spot of woohoo in their piles of money, as well as throwing it around, Scrooge McDuck style. Those looking to steal some simoleons should watch out as sims can also get trapped in the vault.

2 Live Your Best Life With Extravangent Build And Buy Items

A large chunk of the build and buy items are extravagant, luxurious, and often tacky. They are the perfect choice for a mansion build by someone with lots of simoleons who wants to let everyone know. If you've ever wanted an entirely over the top solid gold bathroom with marble walls then this is the pack for you.

However, there are also some contemporary and classic items that are more versatile, very tasteful, and well worth placing in any home. The different swatches of many objects can also convey luxury or tacky, depending on how they are used and mixed.

1 Look Stylish With Award Show Ready Create A Sim Items

Create-a-sim also includes a range of red carpet-ready looks. Smart suits, long dresses, high heels, and vibrant jewelry are included and there are even suits for children. For those wanting some quirkiness, there is also a range of costumes and even celebrity disguises so you can go incognito.

You'll also find award-winning up-dos, some statement jewelry, and a few more casual items included. The clothing is actually more versatile than it first seems and includes a few very wearable everyday items.
