For those who are looking to forge themselves a new life full of magic and mischief, this pack is for you. It has a few bugs, such as clipping issues, but overall the content is variable and more extensive than expected for a game pack. Here's everything you need to know about Realm of Magic, so you can decide if being a spellcaster is for you.

10 Spellcasters Are A New Life State

You can now become a spellcaster. Like other occult life states, you can be transformed into one, create one, or have one born into your family. For those wishing to transform an existing sim, you simply need to head to the magical realm.

Through the portal in Glimmerbook lies Magical HQ and here you can find one of the three sages who will send you on a simple quest to gather motes. Once this is complete your spellcaster journey will begin.

9 You Can Create A Safe Haven In Glimmerbrook

The new town of Glimmerbrook may be small but it creates a safe haven from the rest of the world. Here you'll find similarly minded sims, all residing close to the portal that takes you to the magical realm.

There's a bar for socializing, since bars are seemingly compulsory for all new worlds in The Sims 4, as well as some pre-built houses. Just make sure you check the house layout as some have stairs leading to nowhere and other such interesting features...

8 The Magical Realm Is Full Of Useful Places

Spellcasters can find everything they need in the magical realm. There's a magical HQ which is home to three sages who will teach you new spells and potion recipes. You'll also find stores for purchasing wands, brooms, and other items you'll need.

The magical realm also includes areas for foraging for potion ingredients and spaces to hold wizarding duels. Everything you need to reach your magical potential is here.

7 There Are Three Schools Of Magic

Spellcasters can choose to specialize in one of three schools of magic, although these are not exclusive and sims can learn all potion recipes and spells over time.

The three sages specialize in mischief magic, practical magic, and untamed magic. Each school has its own benefits and drawbacks. Luckily players have a spellbook to keep track of their knowledge and spells.

6 Spellcasters Can Have Familiars

Familiars are a fantastic addition to the game. Not only do they look cute but they can help prevent death by overload. Keep them alongside you during duels and you'll be able to really unleash your powers without worrying.

Dueling other spellcasters can help you gain knowledge, ingredients, and experience so its a worthwhile and fun endeavor. A familiar, which can be your family pet if you have Cats & Dogs, will help keep you safe, just keep an eye on their cooldown.

5 There Are Powers And Curses

As you grow in power you can gain new abilities using a points system similar to the one in Vampires. You'll also find that spellcasting can curse you. Some curses are just funny or annoying but some can actually kill you.

The night wraith is especially dangerous as it will render you sim unable to sleep and stop their needs from being refilled properly, which can turn deadly. Be sure to learn how to cure curses with a spell or potion as soon as you can.

4 You Can Make Potions And Ride Brooms

Cauldrons are a great feature and can be used to mix potions and cook huge portions of mac and cheese. Who wouldn't want to feed the entire magical realm this way?

Brooms are also fun and flexible. You can buy them in the magical realm and they vary from sponge mops to ornate and traditional brooms. Once you have one it can be used in any world, even Sulani. It may look surreal but it's great fun to fly around the island on a mop.

3 Magic Can be Cast With And Without Wands

A new feature we've not seen in magical packs before is the ability to allow your sim to use wandless magic. For those who wish to stick to tradition then wands are available but wandless magic is also possible.

Not using a wand allows spellcasters to draw less attention to themselves and pull off magic from closer by without being outed as a spellcaster, something that can be very useful.

2 The Create-A-Sim Items Are Occult Themed

Create-A-Sim options for this pack include some different occult type items. There are items to create a gothic or grungy looking spellcaster combined with some more traditional variations. While there aren't as many robes and pointy hats as we'd like, the options are more usable outside of the magical realm.

Long flowing outfits combine with traditional looks to create different images for your spellcasters. They also match well with existing clothing and could be used for any gothic, hippie or bohemian sims, not just spellcasters.

1 Build And Buy Mode Has An Art Nouveau Feel

If you've ever wanted a traditional home with wood furniture, ornate windows, and intricate designs you're in luck. The art nouveau theme is both occult and elegant.

The wooden furniture matches well with existing items but also contains a few items with some special mystical touches, including wand cases. The windows and doors are unique and there's even a kitchen, with appliances and units, which is always well received. We just wish it had wall cupboards, without resorting to mods.
