The Seasons expansion pack is a rare example of a DLC pack that affects almost every single aspect of The Sims 4. It not only adds weather to your sim's worlds but also features several other functions that change the way you play. 10 It Introduces Flexible Seasons

With the title of the game being Seasons then it's obvious that this is a huge focus of the pack. Your sim's worlds will now experience all four seasons and each one will change the weather patterns.

You can select the season when you begin and there are a few in-game adjustments to help you tailor your seasonal gameplay. The length of the seasons can be changed in the menu, ranging from 7 days to 28 days and you can also advance the seasons using a weather machine or a cheat.

9 Weather Is Variable In Each World

Every world in the game has its own climate, depending on the area it is based on. More tropical worlds like Sulani and Selvadorada will have brief heavy rain showers and more sunshine. Desert worlds like Strangerville and Oasis Springs also have hot, dry weather.

Other worlds have different amounts of rain, sun, wind, and cloud. These will vary hugely depending on the world type and the season, replicating the climate you'd expect if the worlds were real.

8 There's A New Calendar System

The seasons tie into a new calendar system that's much more flexible than you may think. Not only does it mark seasonal events, bringing us the Sims equivalent of Easter, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and New Year, but it also contains other events.

The calendar is populated with a number of pop-up events to participate in but can also be used to schedule parties and celebrations in advance. Those with Discover University will also find their classes marked on the calendar.

7 You Can Properly Celebrate Seasonal Events

Seasons also brings traditions to the game. Some are rabbit hole events, such as attending religious services, while others are practical. These traditions can involve decorating your home or participating in events like a group meal.

There are also NPCs linked to different events, such as Father Winter and the Flower Bunny. These add depth to the events, just watch out for the gnomes, they are very unpredictable!

6 Sims Can Go Ice Or Roller Skating

There are two sizes of rink for either roller skating or ice skating. These can be placed on any lot or may appear at random in your worlds as a pop-up event.

Once sims begin to skate they will start to gain levels in the secret skating skill, improving their balance and coordination over time until they can skate like a pro. They can even dress the part with some interesting skating outfits.

5 There's A New Flower Arranging Skill And Gardening Career

Sims can now arrange flowers and gain a new skill. The flower arranging skill allows you to create bouquets that have different effects on those you gift them to.

The entire gardening system was overhauled in the update that came with this pack and those interested in gardening can now embark on a properly structured career. Flower arranging ties into it and Sims can make money in several ways using this path.

4 You Can Join The Scouts

Children who are bored can now choose to join the scouts. They can attend rabbit hole meetings and then come home and partake in specific challenges.

Scout challenges are available through a noticeboard system and completing them awards badges and trophies for participation. The requirements vary but offer some structure to sims who love a challenge.

3 There Are Several New Deaths

Weather can be dangerous and this pack actually has four new deaths. The main two are death by freezing and overheating. There are new categories for hot and cold weather outfits and failing to use these can quickly result in a visit from grim.

When storms are raging Sims also have a chance to be struck by lightning. This is unpredictable as it can either give your sims temporary lightning powers or fry them to a crisp. Sims can also die if gifted a specific bouquet from a talented flower arranger.

2 The Build And Buy Items Are Cheap And Versatile

The Seasons build and buy items include a huge number of staples. There are a large number of basics like cheap windows, doors, fences, and siding that all match together.

You'll also find a wide range of common household items including curtains in a wide range of colors and sizes as well as some nice extra touches like umbrella stands that can help add character to your home.

As well as the hot and cold weather clothing options in create-a-sim there are also many new outfits that fit these styles. Warm coats, comfortable boots, and wooly hats are all present and correct alongside big jumpers and cardigans. There is also a range of swimming costumes as well as shorts, t-shirts, and sunglasses.

The season-specific clothing is rounded off with some easy to wear basics that can be used in any season making the clothing collection one of the best.
