In preparation for the upcoming Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff Pack, the team has just released an update. While this is not uncommon, this update includes a few nice little changes, as well as the much anticipated cross-platform gallery alongside the usual bug fixes.

As is always the case in Sims 4 updates, this patch comes with some bug fixes. As the game gets more complex issues do arise, and the frequent updates attempt to keep on top of them. This latest patch fixes the incredibly annoying bug where taking a shower in a bath and shower combo didn't increase hygiene. Other fixes include the error codes triggered when traveling, the random ultra-speed jumps caused by NPC maids, and several odd freelancer career glitches.

The biggest update now rolled out is the new cross-platform gallery which does not require PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. Instead, players just need to link their regular account to their EA account. If preferred, the cross-platform functionality can be turned off, showing only content from your current platform.

While the console patch today is not identical to the PC version, mostly focusing on the gallery rollout, the updates are getting closer together, with consoles now less than a month behind PC and Mac in terms of feature updates.

After SimGuruNinja tweeted out the patch details, Simmers quickly went looking for the surprises.

As always, the community knows this game inside and out. Platinumsimmers was on the case, quickly cataloging some nice little quality of life changes.

The first addition is one many have long hoped for: upgradable beds. No longer do builders need to reject good looking beds because the stats on them are awful. All beds can now be upgraded to add massage controls and increase mattress firmness.

Massage controls increase the energy gain from sleeping or napping on the bed and can be upgraded with level 8 handiness. Mattress firmness can be upgraded at level 8 handiness and allows more restful sleep.

To make tiny living more possible, all book-based decor now allows you to read the books, essentially turning them into mini bookcases in terms of functionality. You can also place TVs onto side tables without needing to use cheats.

These nice little touches are sure to prepare Simmers for the upcoming pack, which will be shown off on a livestream on January 17th at 11 am PT.
