Updated February 24th, 2020: Playing through different challenges in The Sims 4 is a really fun way to add some excitement to the game. Although a lot of the appeal in this game is being able to do whatever we want without rules, having some fun restrictions added into the game can make things a lot more interesting. There are so many around the Internet to choose from and try out on your Sim families. Because talented Sims fans are constantly coming up with new challenges, we've come back and added five more unique gameplay challenges.

15 Off-The-Grid Challenge (Island Living Edition)

The Island Living pack gave us a ton of fun new additions to our games. From a brand new, tropical island-inspired world to mermaids and even the new "off-the-grid" lot trait, this pack made a ton of fun and exciting elements to the game.

The off-the-grid challenge is one that people have been playing in their Sims games for a while, but finally having a lot trait for it has really made this challenge so much fun and easier. The Island Living Off-The-Grid Challenge is one that requires the player to have Island Living and has them set their lot to the "off-the-grid" lot trait. Then, they have to make money by unconventional means like selling collectibles and doing odd jobs.

14 "Hurry Up!" Legacy Challenge

Some legacy challenges in The Sims 4 take a long time to complete. A lot of players like to really take their time to build up their character's skills and career and really play the field before settling down with a single other Sim.

With the "Hurry Up!" Legacy Challenge, players are challenged to make things move a lot faster. The rules are basically the same as any other legacy challenge, except that lifespans are set to short, so players have a lot less time to settle down and produce an heir.

13 Alphabetacy Challenge

For some people, picking names for all their Sims and their children is the hardest part of playing through an entire family. There are so many names out there, it can be hard to pick just one that's perfect for each of our Sims' children!

In the Alphabetacy Challenge, players are challenged to name each of the babies born in their Sim's family with a different letter of the alphabet, going in order from A to Z. This challenge awards (and removes!) points based on different events that take place throughout each generation of the game.

12 Whims & Sims Challenge

Anyone who has played The Sims 4 will be familiar with Whims. They're the little thought bubbles that pop up near your Sim's portrait and show things that the Sim is thinking about wanting to do. These can be based on packs that the player has installed or their Sim's traits, relationships, and surroundings.

The Whims & Sims challenge is one that is completely based around these Whims. In this challenge, the player's goal is to complete as many of their Sim's Whims as possible while keeping their Sim happy and giving them a fulfilling life. No cancelling Whims allowed in this challenge!

11 The Random Challenge

For some people, creating a Sim is the most fun part of playing the game. It can be so much fun to edit their facial features, give them the perfect outfit and hair color, and really make everything about their appearance fit what the player wants.

But, what if you had no control over that? The Random Challenge answers that question! In this challenge, players are tasked with pressing that random button that shows up in Create-a-Sim and then not changing a single thing. They're then supposed to use a website to give them random traits and that's it! No more editing the Sim's appearance or traits, it's time to play!

10 Not So Berry Challenge

The Not So Berry Challenge is a play on the Berry Challenge in The Sims 4. But instead of giving your sim brightly colored skin, everything else in their life is colorful! This is a legacy challenge in which each generation is given a color, traits, an aspiration, and a career goal.

This challenge is a fun one for anyone that wants to have everything chosen for them. If you're stuck on what to do with your sim, this colorful challenge might do the trick!

9 10k Starter Home Challenge

The 10k Starter Home Challenge is one that's a little more unique. Instead of being totally focused on the way that you actually play the game, this challenge is more focused on where your Sim lives!

8 Disney Princess Challenge

Who doesn't love Disney Princesses? For the Disney Princess Challenge, you're tasked with creating a sim based on each princess for each legacy that you go through. The challenge starts with Snow White and each generation has a certain set of Disney Princess-themed requirements that you must meet before you move on to the next generation.

For people that love Disney and want to play through a really unique legacy challenge in The Sims 4, the Disney Princess Challenge is a fun one!

7 History Challenge

The History Challenge in The Sims 4 is a really unique challenge that really gives players a challenge when it comes to their legacy in The Sims 4. This challenge takes players through several different points in human history, each one with specific goals and restrictions that fit that time period.

The challenge begins in prehistoric times and reaching certain milestones and achievements, like having multiple children or reading level 10 in certain skills, nets the player points.

6 Decades Challenge

For players of The Sims 4 that like to have a really fun, creative game, playing through a challenge like the Decades Challenge can be a super fun one. The game starts with your Sim living in the 1890s and each new generation of the legacy is a new decade. Each decade has its own rules and restrictions, making this challenge super interesting!

This challenge is pretty simple. The goal is to have 100 total babies in as few generations as possible. This challenge can get pretty tough, though! No nannies are allowed and the mother of the current generation can't have a job. Still, this challenge is pretty fun.

4 Black Widow Challenge

The Black Widow Challenge is the perfect challenge for anyone that doesn't necessarily want to play a normal legacy challenge. This challenge is perfect for anyone that wants to create a Sim that's a total serial romantic.

This challenge has some really specific rules about your Sim's behavior and can be played in a variety of different ways. The main point of the challenge is that in this legacy, your Sim will go through quite a few different romantic partners during each generation. Reaching certain milestones or achieving different things will give the player points.
