There are a plethora of different spells for the Dragonborn to learn in Skyrim, and the magic in the game is one of the key components of the combat system that players know and love. Players can learn everything from a spell that grants telekinetic abilities all the way to a conjurable Dremora Lord.

10 Wall Of Flames

Wall Of Flames is a spell that does exactly what it sounds like; it causes a flame wall to appear wherever the player casts it.

This flame wall is extremely powerful and deals a ton of fire damage to any enemy that walks into it. The Wall Of Flames spell is best utilized when there are many enemies around to damage enemies while they are trying to make their way towards the Dragonborn and any of the companions that they may have with them.

9 Conjure Dremora Lord

Conjure Dremora Lord is one of the strongest Conjuration spells that players can cast, and it will require the player to be level 75 and up in the Conjuration skill line before being able to purchase it.

Dremora Lords carry a powerful sword on their back that they can use to defeat enemies of the Dragonborn. Dremora Lords also have a lot of health, and since this spell can be recast an unlimited amount of times, it is worth learning for any Conjuration master.

8 Vampiric Drain

Vampiric Drain is a spell that can only be cast by a vampire, and it is in the Destruction class of magic.

Vampiric Drain is a lot stronger than a lot of other Destruction spells because it allows the player to gain health while also damaging the enemy. Casting this spell on an enemy will absorb their health and also deal a lot of damage to them all at once. This combination is extremely fun and makes for an interesting spell to use.

7 Summon Arvak

The Summon Arvak spell can only be obtained in the Soul Cairn, and the player will have to complete a quest where they must retrieve Arvak's skull prior to ever getting a chance to summon this steed for themselves.

Arvak is a spectral steed, and it is the best horse in the game because it can never die. Having an immortal horse is extremely fun, and Arvak's unique appearance makes fans desire to have the spell Summon Arvak even stronger.

6 Dead Thrall

The Dead Thrall spell is worthwhile to learn, but unfortunately, it can only be obtained as a spell once the player becomes a master in Conjuration.

The Dead Thrall spell allows the player to revive a dead body to fight for them, but the catch is that it allows the person to stay alive forever until they are killed. This is a major step up from other spells that will disintegrate the person after 60 seconds. The most fun thing about this spell is that players can use it to revive major characters such as Cicero and Astrid.

5 Vampire's Seduction

Vampire's Seduction is another vampire exclusive spell that is learned after the player becomes a vampire either by joining the Volkihar clan or by encountering a vampire in the wild.

Vampire's Seduction is a very unique spell because it grants the player the ability to feed on an enemy while they are awake, as long as the Dawnguard DLC is installed. This spell is great, and it is especially efficient for a vampire that wants to feed on the go. On top of all that, this spell is a hilarious way to attack NPCs.

4 Mass Paralysis

The Paralysis spell is already a joy to use, but the Mass Paralysis spell is even better. This spell will paralyze all enemies nearby to the player for a few seconds.

This is a very strong ability, and watching a bunch of enemies drop to the floor is extremely fun, so every player should attempt to learn this spell if they get the chance. Mass Paralysis is a master Alteration spell, which means that the player will have to level up their skill quite a bit if they want to learn it.

3 Conjure Flaming Familiar

Conjure Flaming Familiar is a spell that a lot of players aren't even aware exists; however, it is advisable to learn this spell for any player that enjoys using Conjuration magic.

Conjure Flaming Familiar gives the player the ability to conjure a familiar that is both on fire and explodes when it comes in contact with an opponent. It is quite the display to watch an enemy blow up because of this powerful entity.

2 Telekinesis

Telekinesis grants a mage the ability to pick up objects with their mind, which isn't especially practical for combat situations but can be a lot of fun for general use.

Telekinesis is difficult to learn, and it belongs to the school of Alteration. Telekinesis has many practical uses, including picking up items that would otherwise be considered stolen and moving them to an area where the player can safely pick them up.

1 Mayhem

Mayhem is one of the strongest Illusion spells in the game, and it will cause a complete frenzy in an area with a lot of enemies. If a player casts this spell, then enemies up to level 25 will start attacking anybody that is inside of their radius.

Mayhem can be both useful for combat but also fun to use inside of cities to watch otherwise normal civilians fight their friends. Mayhem is a great spell to learn, and the amount of fun that a player can have with it is unlimited.
