The ever expansive Skyrim has seen its fair share of location mods, some of which are extensive and extraordinarily well put together. There's the huge Falskaar lands mod, for example, that adds 20-30 hours worth of quests and side quests, giving players an entirely new worldspace to explore. Now there's a mod that gives Skyrim players the chance to explore an entire dystopian futuristic city.

The Fort Knox mod, by Ripcat, goes one up on an older mod known as Aether Suite - Project Kn0x by Halo, which was mostly a futuristic environment that allowed players to take screenshots in and didn't feature much life or interactivity. But this Skyrim Special Edition mod of Fort Knox adds the industrial district expected of a cyberpunk setting, complete with gun shops, cops, and a sexy strip club with androids.

Fort Knox contains five areas and its own collection of NPCs. There aren't any quests unfortunately, so we can't go full Cyberpunk 2077-alike, and what few lines of dialogue there are comes via text. But players can deck themselves out in full-on cyberpunk gear.

PC Gamer explored the Fort Knox mod and found androids miming the eating of bread and robot dogs that asked, "You need something?" Sadly, they couldn't pet the dog. To visit the sci-fi city, players use a new spell called Log Out, which is added to your spellbook once Fort Knox is installed. Once cast, players find themslves in a VR room where they've been playing Skyrim, and they log-out of this and walk into the "real world", although players find themselves still looking like their Skyrim character unless they head to a shop to update their gear.

Fort Knox includes a plaza, the aforementioned industrial zone, a sewer, a park, and an island called Octo-8 complete with beach umbrellas. At a clothing store named Hardware players can pick up a chicken head, cardboard armour, and gas masks, because cyberpunk. There is also a "mini moto" that can be summoned in Proteus' cheat menu although Fort Knox doesn't have the best collision detection.

Fort Knox is available via NexusMods, with full details on what to install on the page, although players might want to get Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice too, as unvoiced dialogue won't work without it. Once installed, you too can head to a gritty bar dressed in cardboard armour and drinking pints with a gas mask on.
