Cinderace has finally been added to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet via a new 7-Star Tera Raid battle, making it one of the only opportunities right now to add it to your party. Unfortunately, actually grabbing Cinderace is turning into more of a challenge than first predicted, as the Pokemon is putting up much more a fight than Charizard did in the previous Tera Raid, wiping the teams of even the most experienced Pokemon players.
This has led many to reevalute their tactics, and after stepping back to take a look at the whole situation, folks seem to have decided that Slowbro is the Pokemon you should go with if you want an easy time of the battle. This was driven home by a new post on the Pokemon subreddit from u/SonicSingularity, who shares an image of themselves having somehow entered a Raid Battle with a bunch of randoms, all of which are also armed with a powerful Slowbro. Poor Cinderace.
Most of this is down to how easily Slowbro can set up against Cinderace. What with Slowbro's natural bulk, stacking Iron Defense means that Cinderace will have a pretty tough time taking it down since it has a Fighting Tera-Type and Slowbro is a Water/Psychic Type. Couple that bulk with the ability to also stack Nasty Plots for increased Special Attack and the Psychic-Type move Stored Power to deal huge damage when set up properly, and Slowbro can easily be turned into a Cinderace destroying machine.
If you're just figuring this out for the first time and want to try the tactic out for yourself, Cinderace Tera Raid battles will continue until January 1, 2023, at 3:59 PM PST. If you miss out this time around, the same event will return on January 12, 2023 and will end on January 14, 2023 at the same time, so there's plenty of time to grab your Slowbro and get yourself a Cinderace.
