It seems that Sony hasn't forgotten about Sly Cooper after all as every game starring the crafty raccoon is coming to PS Plus next month as part of the PS Plus Premium Classics collection.Announced via a new blog post on the PlayStation website, the first three Sly Cooper games as well as Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time will be available for PS Plus Premium subscribers to play on September 20. However, there is a catch, as rather than individually adding the PS2 games, Sony has opted to go for the remastered Sly Collection for the PS3.Related: The Big Question: Who's The Best Animal ProtagonistWhile Sly Cooper being more widely available will please some people, there seems to be quite a bit of disappointment that none of the PS2 games have been made available. As you'll likely be aware, the PS4 and PS5 don't support backwards compatibility for PS3 games, meaning Sony has to offer up streaming services for those specific titles. While this is fine for some, streaming a game can be unreliable, especially for those with unstable Internet connections.

Thankfully, there are plenty of other titles available to download if you can't stream, as joining Sly Cooper in the Classics collection is Syphon Filter 2 for the PS1 as well as Toy Story 3 and Kingdom of Paradise for the PSP.

The new additions to the PS Plus Extra and Preimum games catalogue are much more impressive though. High-profile titles such as Deathloop, Assassin's Creed Origins, Watch Dogs 2, and Rayman Legends will all be made available on September 20, along with indie darlings such as Chicory: A Colorful Tale and Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition.

If you're hoping that Sony's newfound appreciation for Sly Cooper means a new game could be in the works, I have some bad news for you. Series developer Sucker Punch recently revealed that it has "no plans" for a new game right now, and that there aren't any other studios working on a game either.
