Facebook Gaming has secured another popular streamer in an exclusive agreement, this time with one of the best players of Super Smash Bros., Gonzalo “ZeRo”, Barrios of Tempo Storm. He describes how there are several plans in collaboration with Facebook, as well as with celebrities and gamers with the goal of creating interesting projects for his viewers to enjoy.

ZeRo continued by explaining how, “Facebook is going to allow me to do other things and explore other options,” which he goes on to describe as being able to support charities that he personally believes in — starting on December 3 with a stream that will raise funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Unlike other streaming platforms, ZeRo says Facebook will be assisting in much of the organizational efforts needed to make these types of streams succeed.

As part of the transition, ZeRo is seeking to incentivize his longtime followers to join as well. Anyone who was a subscriber on Twitch for a year or more will receive a free shirt, with free shipping as a gesture of goodwill. Interestingly, ZeRo concluded by saying he wanted to thank his “previous platform”, but did not mention Twitch by name, which was perhaps a stipulation put forth by Facebook, as it comes off as a half-hearted thanks.

ZeRo should have no problem becoming a hit streamer on Facebook Gaming, as he was regularly at the top of the charts for concurrent viewers on Twitch. His positive, wholesome demeanor and casual engagement with viewers makes him a streamer that is popular with all age groups, and it certainly helps that he is among the best players of Super Smash Bros.

Streaming platforms are currently locked in serious contention for the best streamers and content creators in the world. ZeRo makes his move a mere two weeks after Jeremy “DisguisedToast” Wang did the same. Others are being signed by Twitch to keep viewers on their platform, while Mixer too seeks to make its mark. As some viewers may be frustrated with the change, either because they are used to one platform or simply do not like the new one, ZeRo made sure to address them by stating,

“I know my decision to change platforms may come as a surprise to those who support my stream, but I want you all know I made this move with you in mind. I’m most excited about the opportunities this will open for me to create new content and collaborations, but to also continue doing what I love, which is playing games and interacting with all of you. Tune in on December 3 on my new channel, and thanks to Facebook Gaming for giving me this opportunity!”

ZeRo was not the only person to make the move, as two creators with large followings from Spain also moved to Facebook Gaming. Both xFaRgAnx, primarily a Minecraft player, and Augustin51, who mostly focuses on Fortnite, have also joined the platform.

We wish ZeRo the best of luck in his move to Facebook Gaming, and readers can click here to check out his new digital space.
