A Redditor has used Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's video editor to recreate the Melee intro and we can't get enough of it.

Have you all gotten over and stopped playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now that we are five months removed from its release? No, us neither. With every new Nintendo console has come a new chapter of the Smash story. However, none have managed to dethrone the greatest Smash game of all, Melee.

Until now, maybe. Of all the Smash games that have come since Gamecube's Melee, Ultimate almost definitely stands the best chance of finally taking the number one spot in gamers' hearts. Although it looks promising for Ultimate, it is still too early to tell. If we are still playing and fawning over Ultimate years from now, then we will know if it did enough.

For now, we can continue to directly compare the two installments. What better way to do that than recreate the Melee intro using Ultimate's graphics and roster. Don't worry, you don't have to do it yourselves, you don't even need to imagine it. Redditor sass253 has done that for us. They have made a shot-for-shot remake of the Melee intro using Ultimate's video editor and went into painstaking detail in order to do so.

While we don't have a side-by-side comparison, you can watch both the original and the remake above and judge for yourselves. Personally, we think sass253 has done a terrific job. Even though it isn't perfect, as that would probably be impossible, the slight tweaks might be our favorite parts. Duckhunt Duo's cameo at the very beginning and the addition of Bowser Jr. being trampled by the Yoshi herd are our personal highlights.

For more details on how exactly sass253 went about creating the video, and some of the incredibly annoying moments he endured in order to do so, you can check out the full Reddit thread here. Smash fans who have seen the video are clearly equally as enamored with the creation as we are. Some are even calling for him to do the same with Brawl's intro. We very much echo that sentiment.
