Heroic announced today that Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer has returned to the active CS:GO lineup. Snappi joins the team to fill the vacancy left by Adam “friberg” Friberg. This will be Snappi’s second run under the Heroic banner, as he previously played for the organization for nearly two years.

Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer made his Global Offensive debut on Copenhagen Wolves in 2015, only for the roster to be released shortly after. Pfeiffer then played under the No Problem! name before rejoining Copenhagen Wolves in 2016 alongside familiar names like Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen. After the Copenhagen Wolves organization shut down, the teamless players formed a new Danish roster under the name "X". The X squad later rebranded to Heroic in August of 2016. Heroic has since found minimal success, with the organization's most impressive LAN result being a semi-final finish at IEM Katowice 2017. Snappi left Heroic in April of 2018 in favor of OpTic Gaming’s new Danish roster. After finding little success under the OpTic name, Snappi was released from his contract in June of 2019. He has been without a team since.

Pfeiffer will now rejoin Heroic after having been away from them for over a year. This signing follows the team’s release of Adam “friberg” Friberg earlier this week. Though Snappi has a long history as an in-game leader, he will not be taking over the leadership role on this Heroic roster. Benjamin “blameF” Bremer will continue to in-game lead, while Snappi will be “free to play the position he likes the most,” as stated in the team’s announcement. Heroic's coach, Frederik "LOMME" Nielsen, goes on to explain that Snappi "brings the experience and stability that [they] lost in friberg."

This moves also follows Heroic's recent benching of Niels-Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen, who played under the Heroic banner for a mere three months. Sillassen was replaced with 19-year-old Johannes "b0RUP" Borup. These changes seemingly come in response to the team's failure to reach the StarLadder Berlin Major's European Minor. The squad was eliminated from the European Minor's closed qualifier in 9-12th place.

Heroic CS:GO will debut their new lineup at the ECS Season 8 Pinnacle Cup, which is set to begin on September 10th.
